Here's the helmet comparison. Just a few slight differences in the paint to make them look different, but they are identical otherwise.

It's weird, I always thought the second version's helmet looked a little narrower, and it still looks that way in your pic. Strange that paint will alter your perception like that!

not only is the paint doing that but one being closer and the other being taller is making it look different as well.

hey dorg's.............is your paypal in this thread anywhere or should i pm you for biker scout parts?

I just want to let people know that while I will do the cummerbund, pouches, body suit, neck cover and holsters. I was originally thinking i would send a bunch of the stuff to Mark and let him sort everything out to whoever, I also wasn't thinking this was gonna happen so quick. It feels like Mark went from concept to finished product in 24 hours. :lol

I unfortunately still have some stuff other stuff I am working on, so it could be a weeks before I can even start another batch, though I do have have a batch done that will be shipping out tomorrow and Friday for those people that have already ordered them prior to the armor casting project, so those people need not worry.:)

Anyhow I will try and make the parts from me as cheap as possible, but the cummerbund and pouches are very time consuming so its hard to cut back on the cost of them, but I can throw in the other stuff like the bodysuits, neck covers and leg holsters cheap for those that need them, so it balances out a bit.

So heres the prices:

Cummerbund & pouches......$16

For complete set:

Cummerbund & pouches
Body suit
neck cover
holster...............................$22

I will also throw in free belt materials and elastic in with it since I have tons of it, Also I will send a bit of the thin Velcro to use on the belt, it will stick on its own and a little heat from an iron on the underside of the material you stick it to will make it almost permanent, but don't put an iron directly on the top side of the Velcro or it could melt a tiny bit, and you wont notice it till you find out it doesn't work anymore. Any how just let me know if you want this stuff tossed in.

Shipping is $2 us and $3 international, multiple set orders I will ship free.

Anyone that wants the cummerbund & pouches in black can also get the holster and belt material in black, just let me know which pieces in what color.

Mark, I was just thinking you should mabee put up a price for the armor without a helmet for those that may have a tomy helm already they intend to use.

Actually the boots are HUUUUGE, way oversized. I did a comparison many years ago, and I thought the helmets were different sizes, turns out it's the paint job that makes them look different. They also have different chest armor.

At first I couldn't figure out why on the newer version of the scout the
the gloves are smaller and much better, but the boots are enormous. But I figured it out, when they switch from the bulky hall of fame type body to the standard GI Joe body for the newer version the feet got a lot bigger and have those big funny heels. Not to mention it look like the newer versions paint job is not nearly as good.

F'ing Hasbro, they fix one thing only to screw up another.:gah:

I opened a draw today and found a Tomy hem... ahhh black gloves tomy helm= X-wing pilot :)

Looks nice Dorgs, did you ever finish that X-Wing of yours? I don't remember, you built it a while before I even joined SSF.

and yeah, that TT head makes the chestbox look horrible in comparison! The realism of the face just brings out the plasticky-ness of the chestbox.

But he still looks nice anyway.

Mark, I keep forgetting you built that X-Wing a year or so ago. That pilot looks great, I like that headsculpt.

That chestbox looks fine, spot on in my opinion. The X-Wing pilot suits and gear were well done by Hasbro, The vests they made just needed to be redone.

Absolutely, its a grail moment!!!!:clap
Bill, mark me down for two new under-suits!
Mark, I'll be on you like white on rice momentarily..

Doh its no worries Scouts for every one I say...

well I thought I would slap a little paint on one of my nein numbly failed casts. Please ignore the air bubbles around the mouth!!! :)

Mix up some thick acrylic paint with white glue and use a fine abrasive "between-coat" pad . Jobs a good'un .
