It really won't. Sideshow knows the bread and butter of this line and is something I talked with them about at comic-con.

Well, SW the EU is something totally different compared to LOTR. I mean there really has never been anything like that with LOTR so not a lot to go on. SS is well aware of what the task is with this line of statues and are moving on those tasks.

In the recent SS LOTR video SS made mention of the fact this was the 1st statue in the new LOTR War in the North line, so I think SS definitely has more statues/characters in mind.

I feel better about this being the first statue in a new line rather than thinking of it as another entry in the maquette line. (I want all the bases to match in the maquette line.)

They're not doing a full line of statues in the War of the North game or doing a bunch of EU LOTR items.

I'm sure the game will be awesome. I've got the CE on order at my local game stop. Gonna be a blast roaming around middle-earth again. He was very awesome and detailed. Was my favorite piece of comic-con 2011.

Wow, with this year's caliber of new product shown, that is saying a hell of a hell of a lot. I mean, Joker PF, Obi-wan LSF, Boba Fett 1/6, and on and on...

Wow! :horror

There is no denying the thing looks awesome and the detail is astounding - just not sure if I can break the uniformity of the maquette line. This will be a game-time decision for me.

Yeah, lots of really great product the most amount of great stuff I've seen there in the years I've been going. The Troll was just the top of the heap. I love everything about it and its from my favorite license of all time. The LOTR maquettes would all rank quite high on my list of items from the show this year.

I consider it a separate entity from the maquette line. Sure, it's still a statue. But, I don't really think it "fits" so to speak with the rest of them. For 2 obvious reasons:

1. Different base than the rest of the maquettes.

2. Stone Troll was never in the films.

I think it's a great piece, yes. But, not something I feel the need to buy. Sitting this one out.

He can read up a few pages why I disagree.:lol

I will say I don't think bigger creatures will have the same normal base as the normal sized figures. They might but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

I don't have a problem buying a collectible based on a video game design. This definitely looks like something that would be right at home in the films. It seems like a very PJ design to me.

There is the OCD part of me that would display it on a different shelf from the maquettes because of the differences in scale and base. But none of this would keep me from buying it, it would just impact the way I would display it.

Today's the big day....or at least today we get the info we've [those of us who are enlightened collectors :monkey3 :lol] been waiting for. I really hope you guys predicting a $400-450 price are wrong....if not, this will be the 1st, and last piece to this collection. :(

did I miss something, when is this "info" coming?

I've been so focused on thurs getting here, completely spaced out the preview. Sometimes bad things happen when I think aloud.

I usually don't like to guess on pricing, but I'll say $375.00.

If this is correct I might slap down a PO on this guy. If its over which I still think it will be in the $400s Im probably gonna have to pass as there are several...and I mean several other things that SS has previewed now that I want more, we'll see though. Maybe somewhere down the line for this big guy.
