Damn that is an old thread bump. :lol

I'd say Casually Ardent. I love SW but not enough to notice the teeth in a mask or ____ retentive to pick out certain other things.

Whatever is above Elite in Star Wars collecting...that's me.

:)

(Same goes for GI Joe collecting...but that is for a different section.)

this is how i'd place the rankings

I place No meaning on whither something is quality or not. you can Like something that's awful, or hate something that's great. opinions are allowed.

To find where you rank, combine the one from section a, with one from section B.

All quotes are things I've actually heard

_________Section A______________

Less than average - " do you mean the ones with Kirk , or han solo? I always get those mixed up... kirk's the guy with the wookie, right?"

Casual - " I've seen those movies. wait.. didn't they make more?"

Fan - " I've seen all 3 films, and can quote them"

OT Fanboy - " I've seen the prequels, but they don't count, neither
do the books"

PT Fanboy - "I think the prequels were better movies Because the visuals were superior"

EU Fanboy - " the novels give us a deeper insight into the characters, so i prefer them to the films. ( this includes the novel adaptions of the movies)"

SW fanboy - " i get that some of the books and parts of the prequels are bad movies, but i still like em. First and foremost, SW is OT+PT+CW+EU. it's all one story"

Cherry-pickers -" New hope was good, for it's time, but i don't much care for it now. my personal favorites are both Empire strikes back, and Revenge of the sith. I don't much care for anything else"

___________________Section B____________________

Character fanboy -"I've got Every piece of Darth maul/Darth Vader/Luke skywalker/Anakin/Padme/etc memorabilia EVER made"

Avid fan - "I've got a few figures... nothing too expensive.. hey, do you know when wal-mart gets their trucks in?"

Hardcore - " I've got Every vintage toy, and all the new stuff too. As well as movie posters, cereal and pizza boxes, soda cans, you know, anything i can get my hands on... that's affordable"

Die-hard - " Gentle giant/Sideshow/hasbro/hot toys/etc wants HOW MUCH for that? That's robery! it's worth at MOST 1/2 that * grumbles*. What? don't put it away.. i didn't say i didn't want it... where's my credit card?

Elitist - " i only buy polystone. Toys are for children."

Addict - " i have everything. even a jar of sweat rung out fro the suit that Dave Prowse wore during the filming of jedi"

so... where do you put yourself?

Am I the meaining in your life, Dave?

As I said before, I've downgraded myself from hard-core to casually ardent.

I love what I love, and the rest I just don't focus on. Life's too short.

Same here, I used to breath SW, now I'm more of an casual ardent fan. It consumed my life so much to a point that SW and life began to blur, I realized it wasn't healthy spending almost every waking hour on collecting and star wars sites, and all my money on statues and autographs.

So I had to break the cycle.

Diehard. Favorite film ever is ESB and just have to watch the OT regularly.

But I'm not a diehard enough fan to not hate the prequels. They suck. Oh and ewoks.

I'm not sure where I fit in. For me, SW = OT + PT + EU.

CW has an entirely different feel, as it's completely marketed toward children. It's still technically Star Wars, but lacks in the complexity seen in the movies and some parts of the expanded universe.

Sure, TPM wasn't great, AOTC was decent, and ROTS was mostly good except for super corney dialogue, but overall the PT still has the same sense of adventure as the OT. Of course, the OT still has more of that sense. But the movies are all good. (Except for the CW movie)

I WANT to collect more Star Wars things. I mainly stick to 1/6. But with several other highly expensive hobbies, my 1/6 collection remains fairly small.

I suppose I'm semi-diehard. I just don't like the CW. The movies + most EU things are pretty awesome though, IMO.

I'll even add CW. It all to me makes for a very enjoyable experience watching these. I've always said the OT and PT actually have many of the same mistakes and same issues. Thing is most people look at the OT through certain phases of their life. Therefore overlooking those issues because the OT makes them feel like a kid.

you sure about that?
A gurney of heads brought before jabba in the movie.

anakin Stabbing a man through the back with his lightsaber in voyage of temptation.

Anakin betraying and using an old flame of Padme's in one of the early season 2 episodes ( forget the mane) and it gets him killed. then lying to padme about it?

I'll admit it's target is children, but no more than the rest of the movies were. and in many (not all) i find the CW does an excellent job of making the characters (anakin in particular) more complex, believable characters.

The problem is, like with any TV show, it's hit and miss.

Yeah, they're trying to put more adult things in there, but it's not working for me. Still seems like what it is: A Cartoon, on Cartoon-Network no less. Most shows they show are TV-Y7, and I believe Clone Wars is too. Ahsoka is in my opinion, sillier, more annoying, more out of place, and even more orange than Jar Jar was in TPM.

There are too many instances where any enjoyment I got out of an episode is crushed during a battle-scene with completely flat dialogue, or sterotypical villains, or completely silly thought processes.

I just can't stand it. And I always liked to think that Boba inherited his father's armor and ship, but apparently he blew both of then up, and just so happens to get almost exactly the same armor, and the exact same kind of proto-type ship, which has the exact same name. Some people are cool with that, but I really don't like it.

Some people like Clone Wars, I don't. Some people enjoy movies like 'G-Force' about talking spies/hampsters who constantly make bathroom jokes. I don't.

I'm not saying that Clone Wars = G-Force, just saying that people have different tastes, and that I just can't enjoy Clone Wars, and so classify Star Wars as just OT + PT + EU.

someone brought this thread back from the dead from over 4 years....impressive indeed...and I'm semi-die hard. I pretty knowledgeable about most SW's stuff butt I don't get upset if someone else knows more.

You're spewing unfounded opinions again. It's not marketed directly to kids. A greater chunk of the storylines have a heavy adult theme. And let's not forget the heavy death tolls. As a matter of fact, proof's in the pudding. Three episodes before, it was actually cut down so that it's more "kid friendly" vs. adult when they cut Ventress kissing a clone while killing him. You actually need to start watching the show before weighing in with ignorance. :lecture:lecture:lecture

As I've already said before, I have in fact, tried to watch the show at least 12 or 13 times since it first came out. Each time I have been met with disappointment.

And to "nip the taint," I'll just say this: I wish I liked Clone Wars, but I don't. That's my opinion. You guys can like whatever you want to, but CW just isn't for me. This relates to my being a SW fan because it's essentially the only part of SW I do not like. That's the only reason I brought it up.

There, done now. I'm not going to argue about the CW any more.

Might I add my two cents? I think it's easier....either ur a fan or ur not. If ur a fan, u either collect or u don't. If u collect how much? A nice piece here and there or every prop that's out there. If ur not a fan, do u resent it or just don't give a _____...
