I find it hard to look at it like that since I have always seen it in my own way. I wonder how many people see that scene in different ways. Its interesting.

I felt he always knew this thing couldn't be defeated , he had to be like this since the movie had to imply that it was truly an unstoppable force.
When it came to fighting it I think he only used the knife since he knew whatever he did it would of killed him.
I basically think the way I look at it if you know that something can kill you for a fact and you turn around to fight it , it takes some balls.
I felt he knew something the others didn't. What it was , I don't know.

Pretty much my take on it. He just stood there like a coward and let the Pred have his way with him. He only had his blade in hand so the pred would come and take him. If he really wanted a piece of the Pred I would have imagined he would have picked a more suitable place to fight. After all he was a trained special forces soldier not a moron. Nope, he stood out in the open and yelled like a ^^^^^ because he truely feared the Pred. He gave up. Plain and simple. Hell he even gave up before that when he told Dutch "We're all gonna die.". He had no fight in him. Hell the woman had more fight in her.

Dude the whole point of that scene was Billy "buying" the rest of them time to run to the chopper. It was mean't to be a heroic scene.

Dillon dies , the rest runnng here the scream. Dutch looks down and thinks to himself " were not going to make it out of here alive ".
Billy realises this too and throws his gun , then the bad ass soundtrack kicks in showing that Billy wont go down without a fight.
Dutch shouts " Billy !. Billy !. Lets go !. ".

Billy completely ignores him , taking off his vest and ripping off his necklace he stands his ground and waits for his enemy as if to signal that he would not be defeated and would fight the predator to the death.
He slices his own chest and gets ready to battle the predator.

He loses but then again so does everyone else except Dutch.
:D

Imo of course. :monkey3:monkey3
:rotfl
Couldn't agree more.

Couldn't be more wrong in my opinion. 'he truly feared the Pred'. Of course he did... they all did....EVERYONE would!!!

'He stood there like a coward' is a silly comment. How can standing and facing off against the Pred be considered cowardly?

thats what I can't really understand too.

I think he may of somehow understood what the predator wanted. They had figured out they were being hunted , Billy probably knew to a certain extent the predator had a sort of respect for its prey. He knew if at least one of them didn't buy some time they would all end up dead. He stood his ground and waited for death to walk over to him and take him.

I think I personally would of jumped off the log and followed my vest and gun. :monkey3:lol

I don't believe he was buying them time bull. What did he buy them like 10 seconds. Nope he just wanted to die. He was so terrified that he just wanted it to be over. Because HE thought it couldnt be killed. I guess you would have to contact the writer though to find out his intent. Just how I have always viewed Billy and the scene.

Totally. That is exactly the right analysis of that scene.

:rotfl Definitely the easiest option...

People that are scared IMO run the opposite way.

Bought them a lot of time. Predator finished him off and wanted to 'claim' his prize and took it back to the Jungle to de-spine him.

He didn't want to die, he understood it was either him or all of them. He made an honorable sacrifice.

Yeh, he was. And he also called for genocide against Arabs and referred to them as "ragheads" on radio on 25 July 2008.........which kinda makes me want the figure less!!

But it is the character I want. :)

Interesting. Maybe HT felt they had to hide the likeness for sales and not the license.

yikes !. Yeah , this guy seems a little crazy. :lol
Heres wiks take on his career.

At the beginning of his acting career, Landham was an actor in pornographic films.[1][2] [1] He then became a mainstream movie actor, and appeared in a number of popular Hollywood films, including Southern Comfort, Predator, 48 Hours, Action Jackson, and The Warriors.

His life seemed to go to crap after his major movies. Lawsuits , imprisonment , trying to become the governor ( like arnold ) and failing. :google

Yeah , thats how I'm looking at it.

I wonder if he applied to be governor after he seen Arnie take a shot at it and thought because he was in predator with him he would have a good chance. :monkey3...:lol.
