Not too worried about the CL right now.

Just found this thread... I must be the only Yid on the entire board.... COME ON YOU SPURS!

Looks like Ledley King did the sensible thing and dropped out of the England squad...At the end of the day, if he is only good for one game a week, it should be with his employers, not the national team...its sad for him but true...
Thank god for the international break btw...gives Utd a chance to regroup:eek:

No clue as to why Fabio chose him in the first place. He's quality when he can play, everyone knows that. But would he push JT or Rio for their spots in the starting 11? I wouldn't think so. He might be able to compete if his knees could hold up and he is a marvelous footballer but the physical strain of a competition like the World Cup is just too much for him, so why bother including him in freindlies or qualifiers? And like you said Wanderer, at this stage, with all he's been through and all Spurs have done to rehab him and how faithful they've stayed to a player that's been with the team for years, all the way back to his time with the youth academy, it's time for Ledders to think of his club first. He's a player all Spurs fans are proud to call our own.

Too true mate. In fairness, anyone with a bit of national pride wants to represent their country, however, when you have physical problems to the degree King has, he should man up and announce his retirement from internationals. Him going to the world cup isn't going to do anyone any favours. He should look at the likes of Scholes as an example. He was always a dead cert for the England starting eleven but announced his retirement at the peak of his powers. Scholes knew the demands of club football, plus internationals day in day out, would shorten his career, so did the sensible thing...
