Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Deadpool 2 comes out the week following Solo's release :lol

That's gonna be really bad for the box office.

That will be adjusted now that the two are both Disney flicks.

I thought he was fine, albeit in a limited role in that case.

To not cast him as a young Han Solo is ONLY acceptable if the actor you go for instead is a charismatic ************ He better be damn good. Because you passed on someone who not only looks a dead-ringer for young Harrison Ford but who can actually do great impersonations of him aswell. And this is not a scenario where you need a ''different take'' - it's supposed to be the same damn character within the same damn continuity. And if that doesn't matter then why bother spending the money to CGI Tarkin or young Leia in Rogue One? Just cast different actors.

For me they went against logic and consistency here...so Alden better be *******good.

Before I saw TLJ I would be 100% in agreement with your post. But considering TLJ gave a flying **** about character continuity and basically crapped on all things related to the historic relevance in the SW universe, all bets are off :(

Just bring in Ridley Scott to reshoot all of Han’s scenes with the Han they should have cast and I’m sure it will turn out just fine:lol

Charlie Cox commented that he screwed up the audition . He was unable to make eye contact or something to that extent .

Charlie Cox as Han Solo? I like the guy, but I just can't see it. Plus he's prolly a foot shorter than Ford.

:lol :lol :lol

Yeah, you're not wrong. It's just that with this film set further back and presumably being 'constrained' by the OT, there was a shred of hope I could accept it in my personal view of the canon if it hit the right buttons - ala Rogue One.

....I'm drunk, and not an even a firing on all cylinders drunk, closer to a impending hangover drunk - what actual Ridley Scott scenario are you referencing here?

Ridley Scott just re-shot part of a movie to replace Kevin Spacey with a different actor.

I know nothing of the production or the story of this film and I can already assume from the promotional pictures released... it's going to be a nice **** burger.

The Falcon is hauling cargo in that pic. There's a container (or something) between the mandibles.
