The fact that the release date still hasn't moved and we have gotten zero promotion from Disney tells me clearly that this is going to be flaming hot garbage, which is really saying something considering we just got TLJ.

Supposedly they're having the final Black Panther trailer drop during the Football game instead of the first for Han Solo too so take that for what you will.

Supposedly they're having the final Black Panther trailer drop during the Football game instead of the first for Han Solo too so take that for what you will.

Definitely a red flag, they could show a teaser just with random stills or music. The fact that they are showing nothing scares me.

It's interesting that "May the 4th" is this big SW day yet even though Solo is coming out in May Disney still gave that date to Infinity Wars instead.

Anyone think because it will have the same comfortable and pleasing aesthetics of the OT like RO did that it will absorb the criticism better than TLJ did.

RO had as many flaws a TLJ yet it was “protected” from the hatred it seems because of the era it took place in.

You have Han, Chewie, Lando, the Falcon and Woody Harrelson. All these guys bullsh—ing and blasting their way through the galaxy. I think it will be fun.

All these guys have charisma. They will be fun characters to follow.

I've realised it is truly the only era of Star Wars I give a crap about...so I'm interested, while still being a bit skeptical about a Han Solo film that isn't Harrison Ford...and the fact they overlooked his clone in favour of some other bloke

Don’t get me wrong I love RO but I think it did have similar issues to TLJ as well as its own unique ones related to the era.

We agreed that ST is suffering from that 32 year gap exposition right.

For instance we never saw (pun intended) Saw’s back story or how they splintered off from the moderate Rebellion.

Jyn’s non existent backstory as well.

Chirutt and his male Rose friend had no backstory.

How the force elements were toned down in the movie with Jyn’s crystal exposition and force sensative mother being completely removed.

The tech and characters being nowhere to be found or spoken of in the OT.

Saw’s anticlimatic death.

Vader’s power level.

What some like Evilface describe as it being a bore of a movie until the 3rd act.

That’s why I laugh over people proclaiming their love of RO while calling TLJ garbage.

At least DiFabio is consistent he just hates everything new lol

The great DiFabio is wise. But I do not go with him on this. RO had nothing so majorly problematic and unwanted that I couldn't enjoy the thrills it provided.

The issues you bring up aren't really issues to me, nothing like taking characters that people have loved for 40 years and giving them desperately unhappy and sucky endings.

The RO characters were total newbs and there's really only so much filling out they could do with this one film. Yet they did just enough IMO. I mean, what can I say, the ending worked for me.

See for me I see it this way.

Now remember I really do like/love RO.

But.

RO was predictable all fans expected everyone to die going in and Disney fulfilled that (easy) prediction because lo and behold everyone was killed off as expected. A sucky ending for the characters but not for us we ate that **** up.

Movie ends with message of hope.

TLJ everyone expected Snoke to be Plagueis the wise vampire and Rey’s lineage to be of significance AND Luke to be a hero of the republic.

Movie ends with message of hope.


Disney taking a pee on everyone’s predictions + Kennedy woman power t-shirt + not OT comfortable era did TLJ no favors.
