Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

While apparently anyone who disagrees with you must be "dripping with anger and frustration" and "must resort to name-calling," three things that are complete fabrications on your part that you know you can't back up. I can see that you want this to be an epic moment where you stand up to a "bully" who then is rattled at your awesome display of nerve but sorry bud, that's just not what's going on here and you were never bullied in the first place. Again it all seems tied in with the oppressed/victim mentality of those who felt threatened by the movie itself.

Deflect, spin, dodge, duck, dip, dive, dodge. I posted your own words. You don’t like em then maybe look in the mirror.

And you’re free to post as long as the mods are cool with your posts, but I’m free to call you out :)

Quote a post where I called you or anyone a name. Yeah that's what I thought...

"Toxic Masculinity."

Give me a ******* break. That's a BS concept that only exists to the people that are desperate for it to exist. To most people, it's simply not there.

I could rant and rave about the "oppressive tyranny of the color blue" in Hollywood movies today and it's as valid an argument.

There’s no question that there’s toxic behavior in the world. But we should focus on the actual toxic behavior and not make it gender specific. Calling it “toxic masculinity” is by definition sexist. Raising little boys in an society that derides masculinity is potentially damaging for their psychological development. We can educate people on proper behavior without using these loaded and divisive terms. It’s total garbage.

Top 3 oppressive events in history:

1. Nuclear weapon
2. Costly gateway to proper education and health care
3. Khev enjoying Top Gun

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Totally agree.

And Khev, nothing about this pile of **** movie "threatened" me. I rolled my eyes at how ******** it was, but at no point was I "triggered" or felt "unsafe" or threatened.

That's the language of weak millennials who tremble in fear at anything even remotely outside their safe sterile PC comfort zone.

I'm a 40 year old dude that's been reading comic books and sci fi since before most of these kids were born. ****** movies don't "threaten" me, they just bore me and make me sigh.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I petsonally did feel scared watching it. People (women) in the the theater were acting very threatening by the end.
I barely got out of there unseen...

Right on. Nothing in TLJ should have threatened anyone. And I do get that many of you simply didn't like it based on whatever story points or execution and obvuously there's nothing wrong with that. :duff

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Crap. This is the Solo thread and I'm still ranting and raving about TLj. Whoops.

As an ex mod you’re smart enough to know the rules. You can go back and read where I quoted your own words. The louder you deny the clearer it is.

Try to argue the merits rather than telling folks who disagree with you that their “balls have retracted”. To be honest that seemed out of character for you.

But if that’s cool then Maybe I should say that folks who love TLJ should turn in their balls and grow a ******... not that I believe that :). But I think here in California the state will actually pay for it :)

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

But TLJ wasn’t boring :lol

Not for me anyways.

I’ve heard that term being used against Blade Runner original and Blade Runner 2089 though.

:chase

And here you are still paraphrasing and taking my comments out of context rather than simply 1. Quoting a post where I called people names which you claimed that I did or 2. Admitting that you made it up.

Man the balls retracting thing must have really hit home with you because even though it wasn't directed at you you keep bringing it up. It was just an off-color joke to indicate my belief that any dude threatened by Holdo's on screen demeanor is acting like a wuss. No need to take it so personally man.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Hell no crows his indoctrination to hate himself for being a white male moves forward.

Tomorrow his mother will dress like Holdo with blue hair and discipline him for not cleaning his room.

Since my wife is already half Japanese she will then make herself look frumpy with a funny wig and take our son to school and introduce herself as Rose the nanny who likes to rescue camels from the military industrial complex.

Is Jumanji good crows? I really like the original but the trailer left a sour taste.

I haven't seen the new BR2049 but I do think the original BR is boring. Very very boring. So slow. It took me several times to get through it without falling asleep.

It's still a fantastic movie and an all time classic, but it IS dull.
