Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Right. Aka counting on the notion that the entire country are complete and utter idiots.

That even happens here
How many clueless people buy blu rays of "Atlantic Rim" thinking they are buying pacific rim.......
Or how many people were fooled into thinking snakes on a train was a real sequel to snakes on a plane.

Lets not point fingers here. Specially with a foreign movie to them.

Disney is lucky they are letting them show it.
I have a feeling that if solo flops as horrible as last jedi, china might just skip episode 9 all together

River Phoenix is dead, there is no young Han Solo.

Don't get your hopes up kids. This movie had failure written all over it way before the travesty of TLJ.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

The guy who played young Indy who'd be *48 years old right now* isn't available to play a young Han Solo because he died. Got it. :cuckoo:

The genius of a TLJ hater in action is truly a wonder to behold. :monkey3

:chase

Yep, that's what we're dealing with.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

any chance we'll finally see a trailer for this with Black Panther?

I thought we were supposed to get someone last week.

The only official word as far as I’ve heard was Ron Howard saying “soon” a few weeks ago. Everything else has been “sources.”
The current rumors are Super Bowl or Black Panther but... :dunno

This is a reason I say this film has no chance of being a critical success with certain fans....

It’s being trolled before anyone has even seen a trailer. At least with JL we saw some crappy trailer before we tore it to shreds....LOL....well maybe not....

I try never prejudge anything.....probably not a good thing to do in life.....lead to prejudice...as the root of the word suggests.

I am game for any and all SW fils they give us, as I am a sci fi fan.

I share some concerns , but overall I remain optimistic and hopeful.

I don't reward failure. When a company puts out a sub-standard product with a blatant disregard for its loyal demographic, I don't give that company repeat business until I see evidence that they've corrected their course. Any product that alienates half of its audience is a failure. You might like a new vomit-flavored cereal while claiming that aesthetics are subjective, but when a significant number of people complain furiously online about how horrible it is, that's failure. If your cell phone explodes on an airplane, do you buy another phone from the same company? Or do you take your business elsewhere, until they've sorted out the problem? Even if you liked TLJ, you should be concerned that half the people who purchased it thought that it sucked. That's failure, from a company that is aiming for mass appeal. It's a sign of incompetence.

Likewise, repeatedly firing directors is a sign of incompetence. Having to hire an acting coach for your lead actor is a sign of incompetence. From a business perspective, having to re-shoot 80% of a film suggests that the inmates are running the asylum. If Kathleen Kennedy exerts enough control that she's willing to fire producers who've already shot most of a film, it means that she's involved enough that the re-shoots shouldn't have happened in the first place. Also, when you're re-shooting 80% of a film, why would you keep a lead actor who needs an acting coach on set? Everything we've heard from the set of this film is baffling.
