Feels odd to not be even a little excited for a Star Wars movie. I will see this obviously but I think I had more interest in seeing Justice League and I knew going in that would be a disaster.
Solo is just the worst idea for a stand alone movie. We got everything we needed for the character of Han Solo over the course of 4 films (especially SW and Empire, he had a perfect character arc). I really do not need to see him do the Kessel Run, meet Lando, save Chewie, get the Falcon...etc. And Ron Howard directing this does nothing either.
I hope to be surprised. Not expecting to be but low expectations cannot hurt.

Um, wouldn't a Yoda standalone kinda be the worst idea? I just imagined Yoda would be young and live in a Yodas village, have a girl-Yoda with him. Like a spiritual live action Smurfs but with them all green, and Palps as Gargamel.

And personally, watching Ewan do his Alec impression for two hours would also not be too close behind, but I know I'm in the minority with that.

Um, wouldn't a Yoda standalone kinda be the worst idea? I just imagined Yoda would be young and live in a Yodas village, have a girl-Yoda with him. Like a spiritual live action Smurfs but with them all green, and Palps as Gargamel.

And personally, watching Ewan do his Alec impression for two hours would also not be too close behind, but I know I'm in the minority with that.

no, Not even a Jar Jar stand alone movie would be as bad.....

As a Finn and Rose stand alone movie... that is THE worst idea ever

Anyone think that all this doubt about it before taints the experience?

I mean sooooo many people already think this was a bad idea, even if it’s good, people will say it’s bad just to save face ?

I think at this point unless it’s stellar....and I mean up there with the top ten films of all time, it’s going to get trashed?

A lot of people never go back on their opinions no matter what, especially when they pre judge something or someone...

Or could it be the opposite, so many already think it will be bad that if it turns out even decent, it will seem better in their eyes?

if its good its good...if its poop it will be poop....in regards to TLJ I think most of us had high expectations...only to have many watchers put up against the wall and shot...or in Worgars case look into the Ark of the covenant LOL...I will buy a ticket for this...only once though...only once

It's Star Wars, so I want it to be good, but there's nothing I've heard that makes me think that it will be. Taking an iconic character and recasting him with an actor that reports say isn't that good just to show a backstory that wasn't needed nor asked for while forcing a director change and going in for multiple reshoots... But, hey, for all I know this is some kind of new marketing ploy. Give the people something they don't really want and make them think that it's a mess before it comes out, so that when the get an average movie, it'll surpass their expectations and they'll think it's great.

This has to be a film about a scoundrel or about how one became a scoundrel....How hard is it to do?...If they "F" that up...then "F" them all ...and may the Solo thread be as powerful with hate for the film as the TLJ thread...the shoehorn police will watch this one carefully lol

I was concerned when Miller & Lord were fired. I like their work and thought the were an inspired choice. I find Ron Howard’s recent movies very dull but he’s a seasoned pro so I had no doubt he’d bring home a good looking film.

At this point I’m looking forward to it. The lack of a trailer is definitely uncommon and could be a bad sign or it could just be the troubled production causing a delay in presenting the best trailer they can show.

I’m cautiously hopeful.
