Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Another tidbit:

“As it turns out, the younger Han was closer to the soft-hearted man we saw at the end of the original trilogy, since star Alden Ehrenreich described his character as “more of an idealist” than we’re used to. He wants to be a key figure in the criminal underworld, but has a nice streak that sets him back.”

So soft hearted Han confirmed, he’ll become the guy we know by the end. Big tragic ending is a go!

A couple more predictable points:

“The spinoff will show the fateful first meetings Han has with Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). Interestingly, Han and Chewie won’t instantly become best friends, as it’ll take some time before Chewie completely trusts Han.”

“The main difference between Lando and Han is that Lando “likes rules” because he knows how to work them to his advantage, while Han tries to get away with breaking them. And as evidenced by the squeaky clean Millennium Falcon, Lando has “particular tastes” in life.”

This looks like a terribly acted Blade Runner. Harrelson will be the only decent character in it.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Here's an interesting comment from an ALLEGED CGI artist:

I assume you're a big fan of SW, and you're obviously talented, so I'll give you a heads up here without going into any specific details; If you were disappointed with TLJ like many other fans, don't see "Solo". If you hated TLJ, trust me when I tell you that "Solo" is going to make TLJ look like (insert favorite movie here).

Full comment is pinned under this very interesting video of how TFA could have opened. First I'd ever heard of this sequence. I always read about the "severed hand falling in space" for years, not this Star Destroyer opening. Would have been pretty cool, I guess, but the opening was the least of my problems with TFA. I actually quite enjoyed the first ten minutes or so.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Once a vehicle goes to crap It pretty much stays that way, after you reach a certain level of busted up, it’s kinda not gonna get more busted upper....

So taking something new and shiny , trashing it....and then thinking it would get noticeably more trashed....is kinda stupid....possibly , but not really noticeable.

And for the record.....the falcon was getting worse each installment. The hyperdrive worked in ANH, by ESB , we have H&C working on it at Hoth. The only reason it works again is Lando fixes it....

The Falcon already looked beat up in Episode III, which was 20 years or so before A New Hope. Now, we barely see it in the movie, but the officially released canon merch has it looking like the OT version but with blue paint.

Notice there's nothing in between the mandibles either.

I know, I know...it'll just be retconned. The prequels didn't really happen, that wasn't REALLY the Falcon, etc etc.

Have these guys actually seen Star Wars? lol

No one who's working on these new movies cares about cannon and continuity.
There was a lot more female droids:

And even in the freakin' Da Farce Awakens

Lando probably used the Falcon as a pleasure craft

It's a droid so no one cares.
They're not sentient unless proven otherwise, especially in a non sci-fi fantasy settings like Star Wars and its rip-offs.

Is that Quentin Tarantino?

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

EV-9D9 was voiced by the ROTJ director, so I guess we already had a SW movie directed by a woman too.
