I’d say that goes to Vault Boy. :lol

Edit: crows beat me to it.

Holy s***! They did it. They really made another very good SW movie without the Force and lightsabers ...
almost :D
Solo is surely a movie for SW nerds, so many cameos and references! And it all makes sense, it has a good story with twists. I dig it.

'Solo' Headed for Lowest Opening of Disney 'Star Wars' Movies

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...owest-opening-disney-star-wars-movies-1114228

:panic::panic::panic: <-- Kennedy, Howard, and Iger

:mwaha <-- me

:crying :crying <-- Khev & Jye

To be fair, they are citing an opening figure that is higher than Deadpool 2's opening number, and more than three times the opening number of Ready Player One (in fact greater than RPO's entire theatrical run in one weekend.):dunno

RO also had the benefit of iconic locations, timeframe, storyline and several key characters (including Vader) from ANH - Solo has none of that. It has the least direct connection to the OT of any Disney SW film so far - no OT Luke/Han/Leia/Vader etc.

With that in mind, my feeling is it will open toward the lower end of HR's opening range, not the higher end.

I concur. I must admit I went with only one hope (please don't ruin Han Solo) but the movie was really enjoyable. I didn't like Rogue One but this one was a nice addition to the SW universe, imho.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I just saw it and I loved it. It was exactly what I wanted out of a movie about young Han Solo (which I never knew I wanted). It's fun and I grinned pretty much through the whole movie.

It has a lot of fan service, and I know CERTAIN members who want to call out "SJWs ruining my Star Wars!" will look for all the things they hated about Disney trying to treat everybody no matter their sexual orientation or gender with equal respect will hate it. I am just happy that I can enjoy this movie without the filter of hate blinding me to what I love about the characters of Han Solo, Chewbacca and Lando.

It's not perfect, but what is? I could pick it apart but I'm not going to. Because Han Solo creates a lifelong bond with Chewbacca, key events shaped the character he will become and Han played Lando in a game of Sabacc over space ships. Alden Erinrich crushed it as Solo as did Glover as Lando.

Only nitpick (okay I do have one) is the cameo towards the end. I refuse to accept that character being alive past a certain movie for no other reason then it's dumb.

To be honest
The only annoying sjw stuff was part of L3 personality. Not much to "ruin" a movie

Oh that
was great! I knew it was him from the mechanil legs. Such a wasted character from GL...I hope they give him justice in the future.

I really cannot stand the idea of him being alive. Yes, he was super cool in TPM and a wasted opportunity. But bringing him back the way they did in Clone Wars and Rebels just seemed way too contrived and desperate. But to each their own I guess. As with the other nitpicks, it did not ruin the fun I had watching the movie.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

When even terminally easily-pleased YouTube "critics" like Stuckmann and Jahns could barely muster anything positive to say about this film, I have to wonder how much (or rather, little) money it's going to make - especially in light of the fact that with the reshoots and marketing costs, it's apparently the most expensive of all the films produced so far ($300 million production not including marketing according to, I think, the Hollywood Reporter).

By implication, every other movie that doesn't force SJW propaganda isn't treating "everybody no matter their sexual orientation or gender with equal respect."

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I've never seen any sex in Star Wars. I don't think anybody's 'doing' it. Maybe they should show us some sex. I've never seen that in a Star Wars movie.

Well then explain this!

What kind of "kid friendly" movie has BDSM stuuf like this? Plus Luke and Leia weren't even married. :yuck

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Incest -- yes, Star Wars is full of that.

But just basic sex... even doggy style... completed under-represented.

Well then explain all this penetration stuff Obi-Wan is always talking about...
