Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Exactly. :goodpost:

Jabba was choked by an improvising half naked Leia. I think Vader could manage.

Jabba was surprised attacked by Leia in an infiltration mission

Jabba going after Vader would be more prepared. besides im sure Vader would need Jabba in his good side to be able to control Jabba's territories. or have Jabba in a friendly place just in case.

im ASSUMING that Vader would rather be on good terms with JAbba. like Trump is trying with Kim Jong un

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

so are you ASSUMING that Vader was somehow AFRAID of Boba?????????
or INTIMIDATED in some way?????????

No where in my my post do the words afraid or intimidated appear. So I would say it is you that seem to be ASSUMING I'm making an argument that wasn't stated.

I said respect. As in he respects Fett's reputation as a professional disintergrator.

so you ASSUME Vader respects Jabba.

But why do you Assume this? what proof or what idea do you have for Vader to respect Jabba. why would he respect some slug monster in the middle of some forsaken crap hope planet ?

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Three simple reasons Fett is a badass:

  • He’s a bounty hunter, duh!
  • His armour is uber cool
  • Vader needs his help

‘Nuff said.

Even though the Holiday Special was never canon, the new canon comics show he was indeed “Darth Vader’s right-hand man” and Vader had engaged his services earlier than ESB - notably to discover Luke’s identity after the Battle of Yavin.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I never realized all the OT Skywalkers put the choke on people. Only poor Leia had to go old school.

Luke put the Gamorrean Guards to sleep like Kylo did to Rey. He didn't choke them.

Jabba was surprised attacked by Leia in an infiltration mission

Yeah...have you seen the film? Leia was surprise put into a bikini and chained to a giant slug man when she failed to infiltrate as Boushh :lol

Jabba going after Vader would be more prepared. besides im sure Vader would need Jabba in his good side to be able to control Jabba's territories. or have Jabba in a friendly place just in case.

Ok sure I'll continue to argue against hypothetical narrative. The video posted before your post was apparently canon. He knew Vader was coming and still wasn't prepared. Maybe Hutt is a procrastinator and was thrown off by Vader showing up early.

What exactly would "Jabba's territories" have that the Empire would want? Far as is shown the only real imperial prescence on tatooine were the Sandtroopers that showed up to find the droids in ANH. Doesn't seem to be anything the Empire would care to keep in line there.

so you ASSUME Vader respects Jabba.

I said Vader's tolerance of Fett's disagreement and singling him out for no disintergration orders shows Vader's respect for Fett's reputation as a ruthless bounty Hunter. Period.

im ASSUMING

So then why were they reaching for their throats?

(Or were you being sarcastic? I can’t tell in this place anymore)

all this debating is just making me realize the scene with boba fett makes no sense
vader had no real reason to care for the deal with boba
vader had no reason to compensate boba if han died
there was no reason to even bother answering boba. vader could have easily tell boba to shut the hell up

why did vader care or even bothered answering to boba or even calm him down by telling him he will get paid more?????????????

i dont buy the respect idea, it seems like a badly written scene

So you realized I'm right, but you don't like the scene. I can live with that. I'm glad you can too :duff

Thanks for posting :monkey3

Weak bait.

Still, in the same movie Vader alters the deal he had with Lando...whose status was probably greater than Fett. He could kill him too...then again, Vader is just a henchman, so maybe the Emperor told him not to kill anyone. But whatever, Vader isn't a manic either, who goes around killing people for no reason. Besides, Fett did a good job, so why kill a competent guy who can come in handy again.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Wor-Gar will be happy to learn that 2 tubes is in this.

Fookin' A right I was!!!! Best easter egg.

Also hearing all the old John Williams music in the Kessel Run.

"The Cameo" still sucked though, even as I was prepared. Should have been Jabba.

But... I gotta say... I really enjoyed this movie. I like Alden. I liked him more than I did old Han in TFA. That's right. I went there.

I liked everyone actually. Except L3. Really enjoyed smooth Lando. Even thought the chemistry between Han and Qi-ra worked quite well.

The worst part for me was: not one good villain in the house. And that's a bad strike.

The first 2/3 moved fast and I really enjoyed it -- surprised myself. I thought everything kind of slowed and got uninteresting in the final act when they wrapped everything up so clumsily.

I'm much more a fan of these one-off spin-offs. That said, Solo also suffers from Disney deciding to make a Han trilogy part way through filming this one, but I guess they got to get back their 300+ million somehow, cause it won't be on this theatrical run.

Like the Kessel Run, this movie will do its theatrical run in less than what it needs.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I wonder if Disney regrets announcing the Fett film after the Solo debacle? They should reconsider this whole project, make a Obi Wan/Maul movie and have Fett show up in it, and for the love of god, don't kill him again.

Then make a prime Luke Skywalker film set after ROTJ. Then make a movie with new Leia, Fake Solo and new Luke all together MCU style.

.

Yeah felt the same. Especially the last two scenes that are basically them going "**** we forgot he has to own the Falcon and to set up Jabba" :lol

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Oh, I see what you’re doing now. They fell for it.:rotfl

This place is nuts.

Oh it's obvious troll. It's an entertaining character for sure though. At first I thought crows was just super based.:lol

it is not that i was trolling.

I was judging these characters by what we see on screen. it what i wrote seems crazy is because judging the characters by what you ONLY See is kinda crazy.
if you take the scenes at face value and judge ONLY Whats on screen then well, you see how weird the conversation gets.

Lando is pansexual in this movie. and thats that

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I'm not sure I even understand what the "trick" was at the end -- did they have the actual "stuff" with them at Dryden's or not? There was so much eyeballing one another it was difficult to follow who was in on what with whom.

You're failing to see that there's a huge gap between accepting that it's possible to pass information to the audience without direct spoken dialogue and weaving giant tapestries of narrative based on two off screen interviews.

Now that you mention it. None of what Lando says makes any sense at all.
