Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

For anyone who cares about characterization and the integrity of the story of the OT.

This scene no longer has much significance with respect to Han's character arc.

Of course Han went back to help Luke. He's always been that guy.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Oh got it. I cannot argue with wanting the ROTJ ending as THE ending for our heroes. My brother is doing the same. I think it will greatly depend on where Abrams takes the story (or hopefully conclude it).

Yep for me Episode IX will probably be a make or break film on whether I ultimately accept the ST as canon or just watch them as well done (if somewhat depressing in parts) "What if" adventures. RO and Solo are absolutely canon for me though, of that there's no question.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I have to say something about this. I know a lot people tune into this guy, "Uncle Ethen", but in this video he said a number of troubling things. He is clealy a far right ideologue who wants to turn back the clock.

He goes on about how he longs for the days of the 1950s and defends Richard Nixon, claiming that he ended the Vietnam war "quickly" and he dounounces the antiwar hippie movement. I stopped listening so I don't know if he smears MLK as a communist fornicator.

He also said he went to Trump's innauguration. That is true dedication.

Episode 9 has about the same job that ROTS had to do: resolve mixed emotions about a middling first episode and a terrible second (or at least a very divisive one regardless of your opinion of the movie).

So we'll finally learn who is the broom boy? :panic: 2 bill!! Nuff said.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I don't think Broom Boy is meant to be anyone particularly significant but rather is a tangible example of Luke's sacrifice rippling as waves of inspiration throughout the galaxy. I doubt we'll see that kid again.

Nonsense. The rebels will no doubt go free them only to find out that broom kid doesn't actually have a last name...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

What if...... what if... broom boy is the new protagonist in the next movie and rey is the villain? The next movie is yrs ahead into the future ...... nah nvm

I’m not going to bail on Luke, Leia and Han it’s just not in my dna to simply abandon these characters that’s asking me to walk away from my childhood **** that noise not going to happen.

I promised myself at a young age to stick with these characters regardless of the situation they’re put into thick or thin.

Thankfully TFA/TLJ are nowhere the equivalent of Crystal Skull bad lol

If anything the OT cast kicked *** especially my man Hamill!

I’m there baby!

There you are. Did you see my Thunderdome post? That was for you.

If Rian Johnson wrote Crystal Skull Indy would have spilled, dead, out of the fridge. The rest would have focused on Mutt who, it turns out, is the son of one of the government stooges from Raiders.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Yes and honestly I thankfully did NOT think of Thunderdome in the theater lastnight while watching it but now I will thank you very much lol

I would’ve preferred to be thinking of the Feral kid instead!

Wait that didn’t come out right :horror

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

:lol

'Memba this?

DiFabio will have a blast with Thunderdome kids references.

Anyway, I desperately want to see this again myself. The more I think about it the more I want to experience it again. That's a good feeling; one not had since RO.... well, and IW a month ago.

This is a GREAT summer. Two great movies. How often does that happen?

Damn son 2 just 4 weeks apart no less!

You were smart for skipping DP2.

Regarding Solo I still prefer RO but it’s a respectable little follow up to that movie nonetheless.
