Didn't GL himself say he cut Maul in half so that he couldn't possibly come back?
(Despite the fact that GL also approved his eventual comeback -- but GL has a habit of just giving up on Star Wars after a certain point in order to sell toys)
And in Star Wars, what 'death' is not implied?
Tarkin, could have easily been inside a destructive proof room -- a super-steel sphere that sailed away from the blast.
Jabba? Hell, he just passed out. Then woke and slipped out a trap door before the ship exploded.
Death? No one dies in Star Wars.... or Marvel.
Not Solo related and a bit rough (and not sure if this was posted elsewhere,) but this was sort of cool. Film school project to do SW teaser bringing to life McQuarrie artwork.
Nah even with Maul's return Obi-Wan still kills him. And dead or not in TPM a victory is still a victory.
The believability is really not the main problem though.
I think it weakens the epic climatic battle of Obi-Wan coming into his own after his master was murdered.
It eradicated Obi-Wan’s personal journey.
Obi-Wan truly accomplished nothing if you are keeping score.
A pointless hero who creates a monster. Several actually.
Ugh! People bragging that they pirated/stole a movie.
Solo plunges 77% Friday.

A lot of...solo... people watching the film this weekend.
I was all for more Solo movies.
Finally Home and I can type on a real keyboard..
Interesting to see you think its Neck and Neck with RO.
Thinking of both of these films and my first time viewing of them I would say I liked Solo more. Had it not been for the Vader scene I would have left RO a little disappointed. Now Repeat viewing of RO have made it an all time classic SW film and I would say its will always be a little better then Solo.
However I have to ask.. Was this film really dark for your showings? I mean it was really hard to see the first 30+ min. I know a lot of it took place in darker areas but man I really felt the brightness level was way down in the theater I was at.
It actually affected my enjoyment. If it was intentional then I think it was a bad choice. If not and it was the theater I think I will like it more the next time I go see it.
Anyways it was a fun fun FUN time at the movies.
I was not thrilled with Lando's robot but only when she was talking about her relationship with Lando... It was just goofy. "We can talk.. Its just us"
Yes SW films humanize their droids but this went a bit too far IMO. Just goofy. I did not mind her freeing the droids as it is fun to See Gonk droids causing havoc
Seeing lot of strange discussions here in the board as per usual with a SW film but they don;t seem as depressingly negative as TLJ threads were
Of course why would it be? This is a vastly superior SW film.

While much of the coverage of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” focuses on its subpar box office performance, many fans and critics have expressed disappointment with a more immediate problem: The movie is hard to see. The “Solo” Reddit thread is packed with opening-weekend moviegoers complaining the film was so dark they had trouble making out characters’ faces or details in the film’s expansive galactic settings.
