Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

While much of the coverage of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” focuses on its subpar box office performance, many fans and critics have expressed disappointment with a more immediate problem: The movie is hard to see. The “Solo” Reddit thread is packed with opening-weekend moviegoers complaining the film was so dark they had trouble making out characters’ faces or details in the film’s expansive galactic settings.

As per this article the problem lies with automated projection. Plus because the lamps are very expensive the cinemas regularly run them past their intended lifespan.

you better not use youtube to listen to music. i hope you only listen to your catalog
or else this will be the most hypocritical post ever created

Pointing out hypocrisy doesn’t make the action correct.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I saw it in a small town in CT and had no problem making out anything. Will probably go back and see it again there.

no, but it is stupid to point out something you might be doing Yourself. specially in a smug fashion. it would be like me attacking Jye for having a grace avatar last week and look down on him...when i had the same avatar....

Only if you save the video.

It’s more along the lines of Pandora. You’re kinda renting the thing for free.

Hmmmm... not sure I see it being the same thing, but I don't. I buy the music and movies that I want or I watch through subscription services like HBO, Netflix, hulu, etc.

I try desperately to find the time to get out to movies and it's always a treat to read some of the winners on here who download bootlegs and complain about being unhappy with the thing they stole.

Best to just scroll, scroll, scroll and find something worth talking about. They've got their rationalizations all lined up.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

How do you rent for free? Kind of an oxymoron, isn't it?

I don't even bother with internet radio or music services, which is probably why I rarely hear any new music I actually like.

Finding something in YouTube is different than streaming a pirated movie currently in the theater. YouTube is policed and copyrighted material is forbidden, even though it (sometimes) may be up to the copyright holder to request the video be pulled. For the most part, YouTube has software in place (in the US, at least) that prevents or attempts to prevent copyrighted material from being uploaded.

Trust me, I know about this due to my work.

As do most people who do questionable things, but I get you.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Obi-Wan truly accomplished nothing if you are keeping score.

A pointless hero who creates a monster. Several actually.

Nah even with Maul's return Obi-Wan still kills him. And dead or not in TPM a victory is still a victory.

Wor-Gar has a point and i’ll add that now with Maul’s return it really drives home just how efficient the Jedi Order were at being inefficient.

If it wasn’t for Palpatine the jedi wouldn’t even have killed Dooku. :slap:

”The boy is dangerous”

Can it Obi-Wan lol

if the video has ads you are okay, if you are listening from their VEVO account you are okay, if you are playing some random upload someone made, thats not okay.
those videos get flagged and taken down all the time. specially if they have movie footage (like fan made videos)
Ads have made videos on youtube profitable for artists. but if you listen from a random upload with no ads, thats like stealing it.

(Did you know that even the avatars and signature pictures we use are technically considered copyright infringement? no one ever stops people from using them but technically by law you aren't supposed to use images that are not yours as avatars or sigs. there are articles about this
