One thing about this directing duo is that their Jumpstreet movies were not nostalgic toward the original series AT ALL. So who knows, maybe they'll surprise us.

Well, if you read their supplied wiki page they spend a lot of time explaining how the duo learned to 'follow instructions' thru Amy Pascal. They're good factory men.
This is no surprise. Disney is simply doing to movies what it did to music.

A film set in the time of the original trilogy will tend to have certain familiar things though.....unless you guys are called for them to abandon this time period altogether.

Another Star Wars movie! Another all new ensemble cast posing in one of the sets for the 5th time! I can't wait to see how Han Solo became Han Solo. Or how he won the MF off of new Lando. Or how the MF made the kessel run in 12 parsecs. I hope they show the scene where he gets docked by the Empire and has to drop his cargo for Jabba. I'm so excited! I recall the Millenium Falcon and Chewbacca! And hey, there's Woody! New guy that's Han is going to be okay after all, look at that smile XD!!! I can't wait for the Hasbro figures and Hot Toys dolls! I'm going to buy them all! I hope this means Hot Toys actually makes the 1/6 cockpit!
Anyone know when I'll be able to preorder the advance tickets?!

Yeah he looks like he is able to carry to essence of Ford without looking exactly like him. I'm not excited by this movie but to me these are elseworld off shoots that maybe I will enjoy maybe I won't. As long as they get the Saga films right they can experiment with these side movies and I can pick and choose which I consider to my personal canon.

Stop being h8ters. Disney knows what they're doing. This is going to be the best Star Wars yet (until Episode 9) and will easily make over One Billion dollars. I can't believe I ever doubted Alden, he looks just like Harry! If Boba Fett is in this I will cry tears of joy. Surely he'll be involved in this adventure??
