Lol....Why the current Star Wars media bias is so evident.. and that’s a good thing:

There is media analysis (and the calling of bs "narratives") in this thread that is really pretty incisive.

Funnily enough, written by JJ Abrams.

It is part of the Holy Trinity of JJ Abrams cheese:

That's "6 Days 7 Nights," "Regarding Henry" and "Sabrina" - three of the worst movies made during the 1990s (and one of them is in the JJ Abrams **** Trifecta of: "Taking Care of Business," "Forever Young," and "Regarding Henry")

What's interesting is that these stories are the only true gauge of Abrams' original vision, as pretty much everything he did after the 1990's were brand reboots, emulation of others or his name grafted onto other people's creations (such as "Lost")

Regarding Henry was a flimsy attempt at finally getting an oscar for Ford. Nothing more, nothing less. Thankfully ...it failed. If he ever deserved an oscar for any movie, it would be for Mosquito Coast.

I still love how HF says "Do I look hungry?" in Mosquito Coast. It is a great movie, but one that is ignored today because it implicitly implies that left-leaning, anti-Capitalist idealism is doomed to failure.

When these self-appointed SW mouthpieces make sweeping generalisations about the fan base like this, they're no better than the sexists and racists.

Imagine earning 4.4 billion for your boss in just 3 years then being worried about your job. :lol

but she didnt earn 4.4 billion right....

did you already missed the post about how they have only earned much less than that?

A selection of a dozen Freaks members could have been the co-heads of LFL for the past 3 years and it would still be at $3B+.:lol

It's the return of Star Wars, a following-on of the OT with the original OT cast.:dunno

Despite breathy billions-bamboozled "journalists" reporting over the past year or so, Disney is yet to pay off their $4.1B purchase price for the Star Wars brand - almost six years later. It's the reason they have been pushing these releases closer and upping their theatrical take and merch take % demands. Their stock price has been pretty stagnant.

They've earned about $2.2B in rentals, maybe $1.0-1.3B in merch royalties (that percentage varies from under 10 to 20%) and another $0.5-0.7B in home video which is pretty much to that $4.1B with other ancilliaries except when you take into account corp interest and overhead for six years.

It's probably roughly in line with what Disney expected, but the issue is that the brand feels totally exhausted after only four releases - "brand fatigue" just doesn't seem to apply to MCU - and it's had its first major failure (after a deeply divisive previous release that pancaked in its latter weeks after a big opneing) and so the movies seem to be increasingly out of step with the fanbase.

You only get "the return of SW" and "the return of the OT heroes" once, and that's done. Kathleen Kennedy has ridden through the honeymoon period, but that's now over and Disney knows it. The huge challenge is where SW goes from here, and it's going to take some major strategy and thought - not resting on laurels of the OT as Disney's SW has done up to now..

Blah blah blah

Bottom line.

She was the executive in charge when 4.4 billion was earned.

I didn’t say profit did I.

I said earned.

Every movie has a seperation between earned and profit not only Disney is subjected to that.

Bottom line LIKE IT OR NOT in 3 years 4.4 bilion was earned with ONLY 3 movies!

I’m just talking box office receipts which when compared to the rest of hollywood Disney keeps the most % due to strong arm tactics.

But yes she’s still resigning.

You don’t get to keep your job when a SW movie LOSES MONEY!

Don’t worry rebels you have won this battle.

I’m not certain about the war but this battle is yours.

Lucifer out.
