I'm not convinced Clay is better. Jax is running around trying to clean up the mess that Clay made. I can only imagine how bad things would be if Clay was still Prez.

Okay, maybe I can soften my viewpoint after tonight's ep. :lol

Doesn't change the fact he's a blood-thirsty MFer though.

It's interesting how much more ruthless Jax is than Clay at this point.

At least Clay valued the relationships and saw value in compromise. In an odd way, this season is showing that Clay was actually good for the club. Though it might be to early to make a call on that one.

When it's all said and done I think Clay is going to be one of the best villains of all time. You just love to hate him. You know he already knows that Juice and Gemma are just trying to get info from him.

The scary part is, there's actually a lot of truth in what he says. He outright says he doesn't even know why he wants it anymore, he just can't 'not' have it.

I don't think it has anything to do with Clay being inherently "better", I think it's more about the show coming full circle; like Opie said, the gavel corrupts, and, in his mission to bring the club out of the gun business, Jax is only getting them deeper into it. Jax isn't worse than Clay, Jax is becoming Clay. We've already seen the parallels between Gemma and Tara.

Did you miss this last episode? :lol

Actually, yes; I've got to watch it today. So, with the exception being my ignorance, that was actually a pretty well thought out post.:lol

What I didn't understand is why Nero felt sorry for killing a couple of his former gang members. I know that they didnt kidnap jax but They tried to kill jax and his crew for the guns recenty .Plus his old gang thought he was going soft and would probably have gone after Nero for being weak.

That whole part of the show seemed pretty stupid to me. Then when you see why they were necessary to the episode at the end, it just seemed lazy and forced. Sutter should've built that up over a few episodes.

I think it had more to do with an aspect of the lifestyle that Nero didn't want to revisit. A "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in" kind of moment.

That's how I took it too. Nero's a devoted dad. His business is illegal, but he doesn't see it as hurting anyone. He wants to be a reasonably decent guy. Now his half sister is dead and he's got blood on his hands. He's being drawn further and further into SAMCRO's violence, something he directly told Jax he wanted none of.

I'd like his character to stick around next season but I doubt that will happen. I think he signed his death warrant this week.

And the Station Wagon scene was awesome.

It also sounded like he (Nero) was out once he had the funds to purchase that land he talked to Gema about. I know a lot of characters say that and that's not how it's played out, but I got the sense Nero meant it.
I, too, liked Nero but now he seems to be coming unhinged. I think that's good for the show but no so good for a character who I cheered for and wanted to succeed.

Logue's character has something personal against Otto, so it it's not the nurse it's someone related to his dead wife or the guy he shanked in the ear.

Donal Logue plays

a brilliant and dangerous U.S. Marshal named Lee Toric who is forced into retirement because of his history of violence

I'm thinking now that Jax is actually vicious enough that he will just offer up Tig to Pope, and he's not actually got a plan to save him.

:(

Seems like Tig, Juice, and Clay all have an equal shot at not surviving the finale. Though I did catch that hint to Pope's right hand that Jax may be looking to eliminate Pope. But that would screw up the plan with Hale.

Lots of moving parts. . . but it wouldn't be a Sons finale if there wasn't some major shenanigans going on.

The countdown begins. :panic:

I bet Jax hands Tig over to Pope. I also think everyone is underestimating Tig. His anger is powerful stuff. I think he's going to kill Pope and get on the plane with Clay, leaving the club to deal with the Niners fallout.

I would like to see Tig unleashed, but I imagine Pope will have quite a few dudes with him, and I just don't see Tig taking out a bunch of armed thugs.

I had another thought, perhaps SOA has left the Hamlet structure and picked up The Godfather, after Jax's Kiss of Death to Tig, like Michael to Fredo, I noticed the similarity of Jax yelling at Bobby how he counsels out of fear, which was similar in tone to Michael berating Tom Hagen because he wasn't a war-time consigliere. We're seeing how Jax wanted to be nothing like Clay, just like how Michael insisted he wasn't like his father, only to end up being just as bad, if not worse. Just as soon as Jax thought he was out, he got pulled right back in. . . or maybe it's not so much lifting story structure as it is that all good dramatic storytelling has to hit the same beats.
