I agree with a lot that you say but she would be absolutely terrible IMO.

She hasn't been relevant for at least five years now and she's not a box office draw whatsoever.

Sony gives me hope that they will get some good actresses since they had Felicity Jones as Felicia in their last Spidey film (which I haven't seen) and apparently Anne Hathaway was in talks for Spidey 4 as Black Cat.

Dude, she turned down Viper in The Wolverine. I watch all her films. Most of her lead roles the last 5-6 years have been in arthouse films and they're all great. I agree that she's under the radar now, but the skill and physicality are there and the relevancy to studio scouts exists because of the aforementioned offer to play Viper in Mangold's first Wolvie movie.

I don't necessarily think an offer to play Viper in the Wolverine movie means studio scouts have her on their radar... especially now. That movie came out 4 years ago right? And the role was probably cast 4-5 years ago? The last time she's been relevant, IMO

Besides, the actress who played Viper (and all actresses from that film) haven't had a large enough role in any movie I've seen since... and if they were in any movie I've seen I haven't noticed them. Same goes for the female lead from X-Men Origins.

But we can agree to disagree.

I really don't understand how anyone can have 200 percent faith in this thinking it's a good story being made and not some soul less money grubbing movie. That's all it seems to be. Trying to make an " extended universe" with characters that nobody wants to see or with characters that work better with spidey, trying to desperately get a franchise off the ground. If you saw how they treated the character before nearly 4 years ago then how can you put faith in them? They literally destroyed the goblin story, gwen's death and electro all in one movie.

Disney is not perfect! No way shape or form. But I trust them better than with Sony . They just don't know what they are doing, they made two great spidey movies and kept failing after that making the character look like a joke all cause they meddled with the directors vision.

It doesn't matter who comes in these films , Sony is just going to rush in and try and make it a hit.

They want it to be like the mcu! That's why this shar d universe is being made.

Also doesn't help that black cat and venom are both separate lol.

I go to bed thinking about it, I wake up thinking about it, and during the day, I have my notebook where I’m jotting down ideas and visuals and music. It’s so up my alley in terms of these two female characters and who they are and what they’re about. It’s the perfect way for me to dive into the Marvel universe, to focus on these two women who I really respect and can’t wait to bring to life.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that a film penned by Westworld's Lisa Nolan Joy and Chris Yost is going to suck.

Lisa Joy's writing is heavy 'R' and this is going to be R-rated. This isn't the safe-ass MCU where Feige wouldn't even touch the majority of the characters to be featured in this movie. There's going to be sex, violence and mainly adult themes.
