If you sell a lot I'm sure it's worth $25 bucks a year. If you sell a piece here or there it's probably not worth it and stick with eBay.

I can't see a paid membership being needed to BUY something though. If there is a requirement to have a paid membership just to buy then I'm sure a lot of people will bail or at least buy from other sources. I don't have to pay eBay for anything as buyer other than the product I purchased.

Another thing I'd like to add to this thought... its not like Dave just will nilly decided to line his pocket with a few coins. Hes ran this board without this premium membership, there was a thread not too long ago where forum members, not Dave were suggesting a paid premium membership for those desiring more features. If I remember right, I actually think Dave was hesitant about the idea, so the man has obviously put alot of thought into our request for paid membership.

Paying for some features are fine (extra PM space or something like that), but to sell? That doesn't float with me.

It's not my site and Dave can run it how he likes but if I'm gonna have to pay to sell I'm just gonna use eBay where at least I know I'm somewhat protected. I'm not a guy who bangs out customs nor do I do any runs or castings but if I make one individual figure and want to sell him I'm suddenly paying an annual fee?
Meh. It won't stop me from coming here and enjoying the site but I won't be participating in it from that angle any longer.

Let's get something straight...

Marines - Ooh Rah
Soldiers - Hooah

You are not permitted to mix that up!

Spoken like a true Yankee.. Hip Hip Hoorah was used during Civil War. *whistles dixie* :lol

Well I hope it doesn't come to a point for a buyer to have to pay to buy...Im sure most customizers will just add a higher fee due to the fact that SSF is now in the process of charging them to sell.

Will a charge be enforced for someone selling some figures/statues/busts/prints, etc they no longer want?

eBay 'protection' doesn't seem all that reassuring tbh.

A $25 annual fee on SSF = selling a single $250 figure and having 10% vanish in ebay fees.

I've only sold two figures on this site since I joined, but I saved well over $25 on each figure by not putting them on ebay.

Of course I want something for nothing. But if Dave wants to charge a small fee for the privilege of being able to sell within a relatively known community, I'm fine with it.

I hope this premium membership only applies to custom items. I haven't sold anything on this forum, but I probably will down the road. It would only be 2-3 items max a year though… Would I still have to pay premium just for that? It doesn't seem right.

You guys wondering about the value or principle of a nominal fee should consider that selling on this forum offers:

1) a means to circumvent ebay's fees - I'm out of the loop there, but it can be up around the 10% mark no?
2) access to a relatively known group of collectors in a context where reputation generally counts for something

Easily worth $25 imo. Like I said, compared to an equivalent ebay listing you'd save that or more in one transaction.

No one has confirmed 25$

I'm really surprised that no questions have been answered. Granted there is still a lot of time to go but still a little strange.

As with many previous I just want to know if I have to pay to buy stuff, hopefully this is not the case.

Is there a thread regarding the new sideshow forum ?.
I wasn't aware of this at all. I feel like this is a milestone of sorts, I remember when first joining this board back in 2006 other members were speaking about beng members of the forum before this one.

I don't even want to think about how much time some of us have spent on here. It's my second home. :lol

2007 it was actually looking at my profile. I was collecting toys when I was about three so this was inevitable. :rotfl
If I'm 21 now 15 sounds about right. :horror I literally grew up with this place. :monkey2:rotfl

Lol you have virtually been a member of this board for a 3rd of your life! I think you should gain some kind of award due to that fact. Free premium membership perhaps ;)
