where do i send the 30 bucks?
No, just as with ebay who takes 13% of every sale (including PP) it will still be "buyer beware." However if someone has had to pay a fee to sell things, there will be more accountability.
More accountability is maybe a better choice of words. So yeah I agree. The sad part is having to charge at all to sell. I know from what Ive seen the customizing stuff has gotten out of hand. So I guess this is the best way to combat that.
I have said in the past that I would "donate" or pay for enhanced features or membership. I stand by that. I just hope there is more to it. Sounds like there is.
For custom sales, fine. But to make the fee mandatory for anyone who wants to sell items is a terrible idea. I'm feeling alienated already, considering eBay is... well, eBay and not a lot of collectible boards have traffic as good as SSF.
The forum already feels different (less welcoming?) from this upcoming change. Not that I'm complaining, but that's my two cents.
Really? The way I see it is the forum will benefit from not having members post-pad their way into the commerce section, sell a whole bunch of figures at inflated prices and then sod off.
The commerce section is a mess and needed attention - a fee seems to be a sensible way to go. Also, Dave has said that the fee will provide other benefits. I haven't talked directly with Dave on this, but I believe one of those benefits will be to freely post ****y gifs outside of the sandbox.

Then what's changing? Don't pay the fee....And I'm not interested in any other benefits that might come with payment; the opportunity to discuss collectibles with other members is good enough for me. That's why I joined the forum in the first place.
Sell on e.Bay or Kijiji? Don't get what the big deal is? Don't pay the fee and find some other way to sell your figure. You're sort of acting like you have a right to sell your one figure a year on the board for free, but you don't.If I want to sell one item every year, I'm not paying $30 because that's a pretty fair dent in what I'd be making from the figure itself. And I'm a student. I can't afford to spend money on things like that - sure, it allows me to sell multiple figures, but I only need to sell one. The cost should honestly be on a per-figure basis or something similar. It's like Ikea's insane shipping charges - great for bulk purchases, but if you're only trying to buy a detolf, that $300 shipping fee isn't so nice.
