Hello fellow collectors and 1/6 enthusistist! Today I want to address a cancer to our community that you as well as I have been allowing to grow.

SOVEREIGN STUDIOS!

For as long as I've known the world of 1/6 I've heard of this guy(s). Dated back all the way from OSW. They've gained a reputation for a lack of professionalism to complete orders in a timely matter and at times at all. My downfall (like many of you) was that I chosed to be ignorant to the perpetuating excusations made to these guys and take a dive myself.

A little over a month back Sovereign's work began showing up on eBay under the username foreverannoyed. I was baffled by my discovery because I thought Sovereign had many ongoing orders to address. How in the world can they find time to sell anything else. So I went ahead and checked the feedback and found that there have been many satisfied cuatomers. I even took the liberties to email the seller and ask if he had the items in hand. However the seller wasn't the Sean from Sovereign we knew. This seller was NAME REMOVED FOR IDENTITY PROTECTION, Shawn's assistant (for a lack of a better term) he answered emails for Shawn and is is charge of getting out orders to customers. foreverannoyed told me that the items were in possession and was ready to ship upon recieveing payment. He also explained that the auctions were listed in order to make money for shipping costs and what not to get the past orders out to people... that was his story and he's sticking to it. Okay I'll bite seems believable, and communication was immpecible.

Long story short I ordered on the 2nd of Decemeber. After I paid for the item there was no email from foreverannoyed confirming the item was shipped out. I emailed him a week later and I never got a response. So I wait another week and email him again. 9 days later on Christmas night foreverannoyed decided to respond. He left a brief message asking for my eBay username and date of purchased and that he needed that information to get my tracking number, I responded immediately. He didn't respond until this afternoon. In my email there was a tracking number and a message about someone dying in his family. The tracking number only states that he had only shipped it out today. I opted to respond to his email telling him how unprofessional he is and his responses proved just that.

This guy wrote me at the very least 5 emails within the next hour with insults involving homosexuals, transexual and even told me to go masturbate to 1/6 figures. He also stated that our money was not important to him nor anyone involved with Soveregin Studios and that their work is top notch bar none. I gotta say I am a bit humored by some of his emails but it's with these emails that made me question if there is any truth in what he's saying. He didn't have the time or courtesy to email me earlier to tell me there would be a delay cause of this "tradegy" but he can write me 5 emails packed childish gay bashing (they weren't short either each one was at least 5 paragraphs long).

I encourage all of you to stop feeding these money hungry scondrels who care nothing for their customers and even more importantly I've notice a trend that leaves their "museum quality work" in question. You see lately a bunch of members here have received unfinished Indy jackets. I can go on about my opinion on their sculptwork too but thats not the issue.... besides I doubt anyone even ordered anything. So that was my awesome story about these professionals and pioneers of the custom community. The rest is up to you.

btw. Darklord Dave and all the other guys here. Isn't it about time you guys do something about their account here? I mean how are they any different from Chris Howes?

yikes !. :google This can't go down well. I just hope I one day get my Newt figure from Shaun , it feels so long ago since I ordered it. :monkey2

Yeah I realized most guys here have waited way longer than me. But it's not something we can sit back and let it take its course. These issues should be revealed to the public eye so history will never repeat itself again.

this is strange. i've ordered a Crow and Lurtz from him with no issues. i got them right away. and this was within the last year or so. and they are great figures. i passed along the Crow to another collector but i'll never sell the lurtz. it's the greastest custom figure i've ever seen. blows mosy of my regular figures away.

i guess this is what happens to every customizer who takes preorders and isn't ready for the load.

I just got a scarecrow mask in decent time off ebay from them, though another week and I probably would have filed a claim.

Wow, well guess what? I made a puchase from this foreverannoyed too on 12/2/09. It was for the T-1 Tech Noir Jacket. But I did not originally read the post when I sent the payment, so after almost 2 weeks went by with no rely back to my email asking for tracking, I check the ebay post and realized it was made from Soveriegn Studios, so I made this thread ...
https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68437

asking if anyone know this guy so I can ask him where my product was. So finally 2 days ago, I opened a case with ebay and sent him a direct email about the open case and told him if I do not get a tracking info, I was going to dispute it with paypal. Very next day I receive an email saying he was sorry for the delay and gave me the tracking number. It showed he shipped it on 12/28/09, but I did received it today.

its really the way they conduct busniess that irratates me. why should the customers go after them like loan sharks to get what they paid for?... and even to that extent they feel like they are doing you a favor by shipping it to you.

There really is no difference. I also am tired of hearing customizers give the excuse that they don't have the shipping costs to ship past orders. They received the shipping costs they just chose to spend it. A pathetic excuse at best.

You're absolutely right. Very, very poor way to do business. I thought I was going to be a$$ed out of my money again.

Yeah, I've never understood that. The cost of shipping should be part of the commission price. When you get the money, subtract the shipping cost and put it aside until the item is ready to be shipped out. It seems simple enough. :dunno

Nothing can be done with the accounts because on the off chance things work out or some information needs to be shared, they need their accounts to post here and keep in contact with their customers. Whether they use that access or not doesn't really matter, they can't if the access is taken away, and ultimately, that's all their accounts here give them, communication access.

Sovereign hasn't taken new orders through this site in a long time because of people be upset about where things are at with past projects, there's no gain to coming here except clearing the air and sorting things out with people for past orders, so the best interest of the customers is to leave that access open.

so why was howes banned?

Sovereign Studio makes daily logins but doesn't seem to even chip the proverbial ice block at all.

except you'd expect the piece to be ready when its listed as an ebay item in possession thats ready to ship as soon payment has been made.

I'm not aware of Howes being banned.

What does it really matter if Sovereign's banned at this point, all his account here can do is let him speak if he wants, again, he's not getting new business out of this site, leaving his account for now leaves a window for him to address people.

It really doesn't matter. I was just a bit confused as to why Howes was banned because you bring up good points with Sovereign's account.

Even at this point how are you sure Sovereign isn't getting new work from people who aren't initiated? The guy logs in daily if someone wants to throw their money at him I'm sure a guy like him wouldn't try to stop it.

Dave banned him a long time ago.

Well I'd assume after he himself probably tried to get through to get him to deal with people here. I know Dave tried hard to give Howes a chance to make right here for the sake of all the members here not being screwed over.

Same thing will happen here, I've contacted Dave to try and get a hold of Soverign to see about getting him on here and addressing things.

People have money floating out there, there needs to be opportunity for these guys to make right, banning before all efforts on that front are made basically kills that as an option and makes it easier for someone to cut and run.
