My Favorite

IMO the best Bond film score.

Then there is my guilty pleasure!

Great opening credits by Maurice Binder. okay movie. Moore was over the hill at this time, and Tim Dalton would have excelled in this movie.

Yes those two are very good Bond songs.

Another great one is John Barry's theme for On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

quintessential Bond theme.

Connery is my favorite Bond and Goldfinger and From Russia with Love are the best Bond films, imo. Those are the quintessential 007 films. However, I don't like the themes/music of those films. I like the first 10 seconds of Goldfinger until the lady starts to sing the theme.

After all the negative reviews here, I didn't think it was as bad as people are making it out to be. I did turn it off when he started sounding like a woman. Did it get worse than that moment? Lol. I thought musically it sounded better than Quantum's theme. Didn't pay attention to lyrics. I usually don't hear lyrics my first few listens to any song.

They lyrics actually seems almost more appropriate for Casino Royale, it's talking like Bond's always on the movie but there's one person that could get him stop living the way he is, which was Vesper, unless he finds someone new in this film.

I hope they dont. I loved the Vesper and Bond thing in Royale. Don't want to diminish it again.

Favorite opening for me has always been From Russia with Love. Not the song per se as much, but I love the dream like sequence with the belly dancing and gypsies.

My favourites are the classic Connery songs from the first five, OHMSS, Live and Let Die, and Casino Royale. The others are good too. I can't stand the Die Another Day song though, and I haven't listened to this one yet.

Two of the better songs from Bond films were not themes per se, but Louis Armstrong's "All the Time in the World" and Dusty Springfield's "Look of Love"* were both great.

*I know, I know, the '67 Casino Royal isn't a real Bond film.

Definitely looks like the Craig era will end on a very high note.

Anyone else think of the Craig films as more of a trilogy consisting of Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre and just ignore the existence of Quantum? That movie really doesn't add much to this series of movies and I feel like the story flows fine from Casino Royale to Skyfall and this continues nicely from there.

Hard to say. We haven't seen this. Of anything I'd say Skyfalk is the odd man out and out of place. There's no Mr. White or super bad secret evil organization trying to run the world. The first two had Quantum. This one has Spectre and will wrap up the loose ends of Quantum with Mr. White making an appearance.

.

I will watch Quantum before any Roger Moore Bond flick.

I'd like to see the opening scene of SPECTRE have Blofeld putting a bullet through the head of Mr. White, putting an end to a lesser rival and his organization.

Going to go ahead and avoid that trailer. I'll probably see it before watching The Martian but that wouldn't be by choice you know as that will be the decision of the theatre I go to. But at this point, I've been teased enough and I just want to let this thing unfold without anymore reveals or spoilers. You guys like it so that's good enough for me.

Honestly, it won't surprise me one iota that Spectre will address that what happened in Skyfall was all part of the plan of whatever Quantum really is and who is really behind it. That's just me speculating by the way but it would not surprise me that all of the films are connected somehow.

So the song is being panned left and right and yet I read in the paper today that it has reached number one in the charts. Sounds about right :lol

That has more to do with fandom for Sam Smith than how successful this is or isn't as a Bond song. If you're into Sam Smith's style of music this is probably a great song.

Is this supposed to be Craig's last film as Bond? I must have missed that if it's true. I remember reading something awhile back that MGM wanted Craig to star in the most Bond films. :dunno

God, I just listened to it and didn't make it more than 90 seconds into it. What a ****** song.

I wasn't really a fan of Quantum. I really forget about it at times. It doesn't feel as well-made as the others (style aside) as far as acting and pacing and editing goes. SkyFall is my favorite of his Bond films even though stylistically it probably feels less like a traditional Bond him and more like a Bourne type of film.

But as far as plot lines go aren't the 007 films usually random and not directly linked to each other (mostly)? So in that sense, wouldn't QoS be the odd one out and CR-SF-Spectre be more traditional?
