:lol Oh good!

Anyone think that Craig might one day surpass Connery and be crowned ultimate Bond?

I doubt it, sure you might get the occasional magazine or internet site coming up with a winner other than Connery but the general opinion will remain Connery until the day both he and all his fans are dead. Then maybe there might be a generation not bound by loyalty and nostalgia who'll put forward someone else.

Dalton was supposed to go out on Golden Eye. Would have been the best finale easily.

They probably would have turned it into dark nasty movie with people being eaten alive by sharks and Bond killing someone with a meat grinder :monkey1

I'd say it was for the best that they chose to reboot it when they did. I like The Living Daylights a lot, but I've always found License to Kill tonally awful.

Octopussy is hands down the worst Bond movie. I don't care how you turn the argument; Bond in a Gorilla suit AND Bond in a clown suit! Terrible villain, terrible plot, silly eggs that made no real sense, those stupid knife-throwing twins, the tennis player, bad disco-era satin tights in 1983, the "Tarzan yell", the hot-air balloon as a "gadget", the henchman's death where you can so clearly see the parachute that its laughable (besides the fact that he's sent to his death by a simple antennae whack), snake-charmer playing the Bond theme... it just goes on and on...

:lol It's down there for me. It is pretty fun to laugh at though.

No... Connery is just too iconic. Craig is a great Bond but Connery will always be King IMO. Maybe another fifty years down the track things will be different :lol

License to Kill is amazing because it's like an 80s Grindhouse Parody of Bond that someone picked up the script to and said, "let's just do it." It's like Dalton's Moonraker, James Bond Vs Scarface. You have a Bond going rogue for a straight up revenge story, cocaine, a barfight, Miami, people getting eaten by sharks, and Wayne Newton for good measure :lol Oh, and ninjas, because 80s.

Apart from Quantum of Screenplay, I've quite enjoyed the Daniel Craig James Bond revival. Hope Spectre doesn't disappoint.

Although I have to ask: with a franchise this rich to go at, how come nobody's currently producing merchandise? I would have thought this would be a dream for a company like Hot Toys - massive inbuilt audience, tons of characters to go at, presumably low overheads as most Bond figures would just be people in suits with guns - what gives?

Hating those two films and loving Bond films is like a Batman fan hating the Adam West Batman series

Well everything that has a top has a bottom. You can absolutely love what's good and dislike what's not and still love the whole thing.

And take a stroll through the Batman section and you will see plenty of devote Nolan fans tearing Adam West a new one.

barbara broccoli

Yeah apparently. I believe she is against any bond dolls or figures etc. Sideshow did have a prototype Daniel Craig years ago but it was rejected. There's some information somewhere in the official bond thread all about the bond license and how Barbara is against it.

Also I believe hot toys once stated in a Q&A that they think men in suit figures are boring so that's why they haven't done bond etc.

Bond in suit more exciting than Stark/Banner/Rogers in their civies.

Now back to this movie, unfortunately now that Skyfall has made over 1 billion if this movie doesn't do the same it will be considered a failure.

Amazing Spiderman 2 750 million box office was considered a huge failure lol.

If you look at Hot Toys history though, options for plain clothed characters tend to come in multi packs or with elaborate accessories, Michael Jackson and Marty McFly are the only figures I can think of where HT put out a basic figure of a guy in fairly common clothes.

The one that springs to my mind is agent coulson. Just a guy in a suit. But then it is the avengers
