I don’t have a problem with a lot of the aliens in SW speaking English, but she was such a different looking one that I have to agree in this case. Just seemed off.

This news about Kathleen Kennedy stepping down might be the best thing possible to happen to this board, Star Wars and the collecting associated.

That’s based on a rumor from a single article that cites nothing.
She’ll name a successor and retire eventually but she’s not going to be “fired”. She has a long and storied career and has accomplished a lot in the business, including the relaunch of Star Wars whether people personally agree with the direction or not.
Solo did not perform well but has closed the gap on the budget and will likely clear it in merchandise and home release. They wrote the movie off before it came out, which is unfortunate, but any money it makes is at least a positive.
I believe it’s likely the film’s legacy will be more than the sum of its box office take down the road. Especially if we see these cast and characters again.
So I hope we get more releases because I think they’ll sell (especially troopers) and the movie and characters deserve to be made as nice figures.

Kennedy is an amazing and prolific producer. Some people didn't like TLJ, but her track record speaks for itself. Her Disney/Star Wars history has maintained that record with the massive earners TFA, TLJ, and RO. While some people may not personally like the direction of those films, there is no questioning their value or her value. I hope this rumor does not pan out and that if it does, that it is her choice and on her terms. I would hate to see her forced out despite her successes.

I'll also add that I haven't seen Solo yet but I really want to. There's just been a lot happening personally these past couple of weeks that I haven't had the chance. So I'm adding to the low box office for the movie. I'm just glad to see such positive (or at the very least, not viciously negative) feedback about it.

I have talked to a number of people and a lot of them weren't even aware that this movie is out. I't's just too bad the box office numbers are not there. I just want to know if Howard Chan likes this movie or not lol.
Howard has many prototypes from this movie I'm sure. And they will stay that way.

Totally agreed. Solo was a misstep, and there may have been directors issues with some of the others, but I put the blame for that more on Disney and their mandate to release so many SW movies, and the fact there just aren't a lot of people qualified to make them.
I quite liked this Solo article. Obviously it's spoiler ridden.

If there wasn't any reshoots, this movie would probably past the breakeven point already. Still, I am hoping for more figures for this movie.

The advertising/hype was not there for this either. Teaser should have been shown months before it was and the trailer wasn’t shown til a month prior to release. Maybe they didn’t wanna cross over TLJ’s hype. All there was was negative publicity of the director swap. It was a movie nobody asked for but it turned out better than I thought. I really liked the film and wish it had better box office scores.

I’m curious as to why they released it so soon after TLJ. I also really enjoyed it and wish it had the marketing build up it deserved. Would it had fared better at the box office if it was released this coming December?
