I attended the SW collectibles panel again this year at SDCC and it was really boring. Most of the panel was devoted to the super expensive props they are selling in wooden shipping crates.

Sideshow's presentation was horrible. They showed the new Bossk as the only 1/6th figure and said to come down to the booth to see the rest and then showed a Rogue One card saying they would be making merchandise from it. The talked a tiny bit about Carbon frozen Han though and said you can display him vertically with the freezing chamber base or horizontally with the Cloud city hallway but they only had it displayed vertically at the booth.

The LFL rep said that no one would be showing any collectibles from Rogue One and to not bother asking any questions.

Sideshow got one question at the Q&A which was by a woman asking when we would see HT 1/6th Poe figure. The Sideshow guy replied that we should stop by the booth and we will be very happy with what we see. I went down after to see if they added something new and there was nothing. I asked one of the women behind the Sideshow counter about it and she said the guy must have been confused there is not HT Poe.

The panel as a whole got asked if we would see more Tusken Raider stuff from anybody and they all shook their heads no.

HT really had no presence at this panel. Sideshow only talked about their own stuff (mostly Premium Format and Bossk), nothing HT. Its a shame that the premiere SW 1/6th license holder has no representation even from their own "partners".

Thanks for the report Travis, but are you sure about the Tusken Raiders? I'm sure I read on Rebelscum that they said 'watch this space' or something.

Well, they could all be fibbing because they are not supposed to talk about it but that was the reaction. The guy who asked about it was "Ok then..." and sat down bummed.

Another thing they said about the re-released Bounty Hunters is that they are holding back pieces and parts from the original releases so that all of us long term collectors' purchases would retain their value. I laughed out loud (well not that loud but audible).

As many have pointed out - got to see the film first really to see which characters I connect with. Also, we haven't seen which characters Hot Toys even come out with so it's all a little premature maybe.

I would like to see Jyn, and as a Hasbro Jyn Erso can be seen already I think that is probably one of the more likely Hot Toys releases.

I would also like to see Forest Whittaker's character - but I'll probably not go terribly deep into the range anyway.

...Well, doesn't look like the Rogue One figures (or Ewoks or Royal Guards or Jedi Luke) will be at ACGHK. Alas. :(

Here are some cool costume pics I got at SDCC this year. At the collectibles panel no one was allowed to show anything but all the usual suspects said they would be working on stuff including Sideshow but they did not mention Hot Toys at all.
