Spot on.
When I saw ESB at the cinema as a 6 year old, the only other stuff as awe inspiring was tv Dr Who, star trek, gerry anderson shows and the sinbad/argonaut films.
The AT AT scene blew my mind.
I doubt it could have that same effect on today's youngsters as they live in an era of special effects and cgi in everything.
But there's this sense that if you have flawless CGI, or lots of CGI, then it automatically makes for classic moments. I couldn't disagree more. It's moments of pure cinema that make a movie moment memorable, even in the context of generations raised on huge amounts of incredible CGI effects.
And to me, the intro of the walkers in ESB is a truly great SW cinematic moment that easily stands the test of time for new generations/youngsters to experience, even those raised on Transformers I-XIV etc.
