True or not, this poster is just awful. It feels like a bunch of kids were handed episode IX stickers and just throw them all on a paper sheet at random.

I would have a hard time saying no to the rouge or monk....

Folks say the new films lack creative designs, these are great, and have bern absent from the films...

It's a real poster, but it's not a theatrical. It's similar to the Ahch-To posters they had at SWC last year and shortly thereafter. They're "retail posters". For something that will be 2 bucks at walmart, I don't think it's terrible looking.

Would 100% buy the KoR if HT made them. Though, knowing HT they'll make 1 or 2 and abandon the rest. =P
The red troopers look okay to me, at least it's something different. The helmets are a cool callback to the clones.

Not impressed with Kerri Russell's costume.

Here's a bit of a higher res of the portion with Kylo and the KoR.

Kerri Russell's costume is really the only 'Star Wars' looking character on there imo.

The rest are just unimaginative and bland re-takes. There's literally brown duct tape on Luke's saber.

Red FO troopers are looking dire.

You don't think the Knights of Ren look Star Wars? o_O

Not really. They look like something out of Zack Snyder movie or a generic steampunk video game.

Also, what is it with recent Star Wars films and having terrible posters. Wish they'd continue with the prequel poster artstyle.

I think the odds of 1-2 released are high. The entire set? 1% probability of that happening. They might show the entire group in prototypes though.

Going off that Force Awakens concept art, hopefully they'll make The Monk, The Rogue and The Armory. All three of them appear to be in that Episode IX poster. Tbh they'll probably be the only Episode IX figures I'd want. There isn't enough difference in Rey and Kylo to warrant buying new figures (unless we get a far better Rey head sculpt). I think the KOR look really cool, especially The Monk, but other than that the spin-off films are far more creative in their character designs (especially with regards to the troopers).

Same, I don't think I need another Kylo. I hope they make the KoR figures. I hope they do a Day 1 release for the Red Trooper (Kind of like the executioner trooper). Chewie in the characters picture looks like the one from Solo.

I'm really struck by the lack of cool designs - costume, armor, and creature - and even a sense of variety, in the ST palette. While I was no fan of the PT, I had to acknowledge there were a few quite cool designs in there. With the ST, there just doesn't seem to be those stand-out "Starwarsy" designs that even RO and Solo seemed able to land a few of.

And those kinda underwhelming design outcomes then makes the figures not seem all that cool. I'm dreading the "red ST trooper" variants HT will crank out. Making them red with a minor design change seems like something HT might have done alongside their porcelain trooper.

There's a few cool bits and looks in there for sure but overall they look like various party/nightclub/event outfits Kylo has used over the years.

You compare this line-up to something like the ESB bounty hunters which have a great variety of motley types, colors and looks this just all looks like a designer's concept variations for the same costume... which these almost certainly were: rejected Kylo designs that someone thought looked cool as a gang after seeing them up on a pinboard together in the art departemnt.

Yeah while the Knights look pretty cool and formidable as a group, I can't say I've ever found their individual designs all that interesting.

Well, partly its the lack of any personality/story I would say also....

I know back in the day 4LOM and Zuckuss were considered wastes of time and thrown together designs....

Dengar was some old guy with a diaper on his head.....

The ones that got attention from the kids were Boba, IG88 and Bossk....

In the era before video, Kenner toys, Topps cards and magazines were really the way kids connected with bounty hunters.

4-LOM and Zuckuss came much later as figures (like possibly 18 months after ESB was onscreen) and when ESB had faded away and Dengar was in the second ESB fig series whereas Bossk and IG88 were in the first wave right after the movie hit. Fett was obviously long established. That's primarily why they are considered more important, though the BH pics most seen showed Dengar, Bossk, IG and Fett.

I never saw Dengar as "diaper" head - I think that came later as the EU stuff got going in the 90s where you saw a lot more of him. He was a badass to me as a kid, but the Kenner figure didn't do him any favors.

Interesting tale....and you have a good grasp on the time line....

In my small area, Dengar was a “redshirt” figure no one really wanted.

Along with Bespin Guard, Hoth Rebel, The Emperor, Imperial Dignitary, Rancor Keeper, FX7 , Cloud car pilot and lobot.

Just watched TLJ last night. I tell ya, Rose Tico is BY FAAAAR the most annoying Star Wars character to me in so many ways!!! If done properly, her character could have actually added a bit to the story and maybe even have turned out well. However, her character was just done in the worst way.

Jar Jar is offended.

:horror

That sir, would have gotten you a punch in the nose on my street. Anything Hoth was top of the list.:lecture

And I must admit I really liked FX7 - those first series figs that came out around the time of the movie had more pixie dust no matter what. Bit of a laugh they released salt shaker FX7 early but cool 21B got bumped to series 2 later.

I "hated" Bespin guard so much I recently made a full 1/6 BG figure and made the Kenner BG face as an alternate swap-out. Again - first series.:lol

But Dengar did get a bit shafted on the figure front - they made him look a little too humpty dumpy. With his rifle he was like a tripod to get him to even stand too.
