Hehehe fun stuff here, Hope im doin it right as far as making a reusable mold :panic: :lol

@Andre, Just practicing on a rex head, seemed the easiest out of all my heads, next will be the phase one clone buckets after i perfect this whole mold thing, or atleast get decent at it lol perfect is such a harsh word haha

@Dorg, oh yeah smooth on it is. pretty easy to use and if your carful it dont even make a mess :lol

hahahha not making a mess!!! Mate you are TOTALLY doing it wrong!! You should be up to your eyes in mess and silicon!! humm or maybe that just me :)

Can not wait to see how you get on... great fun eh?

Let us other novices know how it goes and who knows maybe more of us will tackle casting.
SO what is it?

the stuff or the cast of?? lol the Stuff is Smooth On Casting kit think it was like 69.99, the cast is of Rex's head, was the easiest one to do, or so it looked lol we'll see 2 more hours to go on the first half than I need to do second half hahaha.

well here he is I think I pulled him out too fast when i grabbed the head i squished the back of his head I read after 10 min to harden what i missed was 20 min to cure lol so at like 9 min 59 sec i was yanking him out to see him lol, did i mention i burnt my finger lol ouch. anyways what ya think for a first? if i wasnt impatient it would have been better lol.

heres the pics.

Looks really good! The back looks like a wrinkle. I have a cast kit, i have had the thing for a year. I have been afraid to mess with it, guess now is a good time. Now to figure out what to cast????!!!!!????:slap

Armour! What else?

Great Rex head! It depends on the price but I would want one ...

Pretty good for your first ever cast mate!!! I love the new Rex head.
What happened to the back of the mould? there is a crease in it, any idea how that happened mate.

Moulding and casting is great but it can be so frustrating

Something I got to have a try at myself is the casting (Mark any UK brands to dabble with? ).

Speedy for a first I think it`s fantastic mate. The wrinkly back could still be useful for an injury (look at Vader`s back unmasked head).

Or would that just sand off?

For a first time mate that`s fantastic.

Thanks guys :) having fun messin with the kit.

The wrinkle on the back is from my finger I was impatient and pulled him out right at the 10 minue mark and I should have waited 20 minutes, so when i grabbed the head to pull it out it was still a bit soft and it squished his head, the second one i made was alot better but had this sticky residue on the forhead, dont know what that was the first one didnt have it, could it be because i left it in there for too long, I kinda forgot about him and opened it up like 30 min later.

@big guy, yeah you can sand it down, the the wound Idea is not one i thought of so I may go that route ;)

I have been toying with the idea of casting also. Pretty much just because it looks like it would fun. Facial features and ears came out really nice. I agree that the squished part would make a really cool scar/head wound.

Thanks all for the nice comments :) It sure is something you have to work at to be good at for sure, and speaking of good at casting bobamike made me some kick ass AFR Buckets.

ARF Bucket created by Force28x and cast by bobamike, thanks guys for the awesome bucket. heres the results of all your work :)

Still needs some white touch ups but for most part its done, swap out buckets on a plain AoTC SSC and wahlah, ARF Trooper :yess:
