Very disappointing news if indeed true. Not sure who to really blame. It does sound like Fiege is being stretched very thin, no arguing there. Surely he must have someone his grooming as his inevitable replacement is that he could start entrusting projects to. Get them on board with the vision and allow them to carry it out. It sounds like Sony wants to stay with the MCU but Fiege is just too busy for them. Surly they can work something out without him being 100% involved. Have him approve the overarching ideas and trust Sony to pick up the slack. I just can?t imagine it?s Fiege or bust. I mean he definitely had the vision for the MCU but even he should be replaceable, and will be eventually, unless the MCU ends when he retires.

The biggest irony here is Fiege got us into this mess selling off Spider-Man in the first place :lol

So if Spidey goes back to Sony and Holland doesn’t want to join....

1. Could we see the return of Maguire (He said himself he wants to do another Spidey and work with Garfield too :)

2. Could we get Raimi to return as Director?

3. Will we see the end of the teenage era of Spidey as well as the cast :dunno

Would anyone be on board?

Well, I got to meet Tom Holland today, so that was nice. It was super brief but he was so kind and polite to everyone. He’s got a panel tomorrow morning at our con so I imagine WTH is going on will get asked at that. Hopefully he slips some better news out.

People complained the Disney intertwined Peter so much with Stark and the Avengers (including his villains even) but I wonder if that was part of Disney's strategy to keep him. Make him so intertwined in order to discourage Sony from pursuing a "messy" break from all those ties should they ever try to continue alone with the character. Guess it didn't work, lol.

Can?t wait for Stark, Pepper and Happy to be referred to as them.

Thank god Shield no longer exists.

Thanos will be known as IT lol

This damages my interest in the continuing MCU. And if Spidey is returning exclusively to Sony frankly I'd rather see Tobey Maguire come back than have Holland's Spiderman awkwardly carry on with zero reference to anything he experienced in the MCU.

Was he doing his back flips like Ray Park does lol

:lol no, he really didn?t have the time (or space to). They funnel people through every 5-10 seconds or so. Very brief interactions.

I actually might have gotten one of the longer ones. There was 4 people in my group so that takes a little longer to set up. I pulled out a vintage Lobot and asked if he?d taken many pictures with him yet. At first he asked who that was and then realized ?that?s the Lobot!? He said that was Kevin Fiege?s joke and that he had to explain it to him :lol So that little exchange bought us a few more seconds with him. He did his best to make each interaction special for everyone despite their briefness, which I really admired. I can?t imagine how difficult that is for the thousands of pictures he stood around for. But it sounds like I was the first to pull the Lobot out so I thought that was pretty cool. He might actually remember that interaction over the countless others this weekend.

He did have a short panel today, but they kept him on a tight leash. They didn?t take any audience questions so the MCU thing never got brought up specially but he went on how much he learned from Downey and his fellow Avengers. He specifically said he learned from RDJr that even if you are the most famous movie star in the world, that doesn?t give you permission to be a ****. Like I said earlier, his interactions with the fans really showed he took that advice to heart. They asked about his visits to children?s hospitals and he said that happened because of the night shoots during Homecoming and he had some time to kill during the day before filming started and he felt it was just something he should be doing. He said the character of Peter Parker has been as good of an influence on him as a person as any actual person in his life.

He seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and appreciates the amazing opportunity this role has provided for him and changed his life forever. Not all the celebrities at these cons are like that. Most are, but I?ve sat through many a panel where I could tell the actors were so full of themselves and not so great of people. I know it sounds a little corny, but after getting a feel for him his weekend, he?s got my full support as Spider-Man, wherever that path may lead.

Yeah he has a much better head on his shoulders than many of his peers.

I wonder how Tobey was with fans I never met him.

I’ve only seen Tobey and Andrew from the back of Hall H. I don’t remember anything particularly memorable about Tobey but it really meant something to Andrew being cast as Spider-Man. I really felt bad for him when his series got aborted so I think if we lost Tom as Spider-Man I’d want to give him another shot over Tobey. Nothing against Tobey mind you, but I think too much time has past for him to put on the tights again without just being a live action Peter B. Parker.

Well as long as he?s in shape and it?s Hollywood nothing anabolic steroids and the knife can?t fix I think he could still play adult Spiderman, no?

Funny you should mention Peter B., I was just thinking that Sony could go the Endgame Thor route - give Holland a beer gut and drop him in an alternate universe.

That?s the way it was in the Ultimates Universe

I wonder if the report about a heated argument between an executive and 2 producers over at Sony is legit.

Supposedly not everyone was onboard the decision calling it a bad financial decision.

I just wonder who thought it was a mistake I highly doubt it was Arad.
