Part of the deal with Marvel was that Sony makes a spiderman film every couple of years, it?s a given they would expand or reboot it so we will see

Nothing that's coming is supposed to live up to IW/EG. Nothing could do that. Marvel will now go low for a bit, just like phase 1. Furthermore, they're future proofing themselves with D+: they're finally closing the gap between TV and theatre with their planned content. Marvel slows down at the theatre? Okay that's cool, how about you check out these movie quality shows at the click of a button? Then, in a big surprise, announce a theatrical event bringing it all together once people have grown to care for these worlds again.

This train will keep going, just change forms.

Yeah I agree which is why I believe going forward that Thanos has already filled the role Galactus would ultimately play therefore any large scale cosmic threat would honestly bore me at this stage and even Dr. Doom would be quite a handful to say the least which is why they should just have the X-Men fight each other again lol

Went to see the extended cut tonight. I do like the additional footage but, obviously, none of it was a critical addition. I felt it transitioned to the charity event better and the one scene later in the film fleshed out Mysterio’s plan a bit more. Funny how these little snippets can end up on the cutting room floor and the film works with or without them yet something a little more crucial like showing how Mysterio got shot exactly still isn’t clarified. The word choice in that scene is very particularly chosen though. Edith never actually confirmed Beck’s death so there is some wiggle room should they want to bring back Jake instead of passing the title to William.

I suspect Tom Holland is going to get a lot of Lobot love from fans now:lol

I have no idea if anyone going to the cash grab rerelease will help or hurt the chances of Disney and Marvel reaching an agreement again but I still really enjoy this film and hope it gets a proper sequel that doesn’t have to worry about dancing around right issues. This film was so imbedded in the MCU that it’s going to going to leave a gaping hole in both franchises if they separate. Hopefully we’ll never have to find out and can look back at 2019 and laugh at the few weeks we feared Spider-Man wouldn’t be in the MCU for the decades to come.

I didn?t get a chance to go but I heard the action scene was really well done with the consensus being that it shouldn?t been cut out do you agree?

Yeah, I think everything they put back in really shouldn?t have been left out in the first place. The opening does feel a bit rushed without these scenes added so I felt it actually flowed a bit better and more naturally. I can?t imagine how difficult it is to edit a huge movie like this and figure out what bits can be trimmed out and not hurt the film. In a movie this long, these 4 minutes fly by. Obviously the film was just fine without them but you do get to see things from Peter?s perspective a bit more. When he?s selling his collectibles to fund his MJ plan, I think that little moment really speaks to us nerds :lol

The scene later in the film with Beck only adds a little but I like how he returns to the ?smartest guy in the room? line during the scene.

I hope the home release includes the extended cut. No real reason not to. I?d make it my standard viewing version.

Yup the Sony executive said that Spiderman is in more than capable hands and then used that horrible cartoon as proof. :slap
