I get what you mean. Something on display has been revealed but not fully revealed necessarily. A lot of times the pictures or video footage we see from a convention or whatever may not be the greatest and we a lot of times don't see everything the final product will come with or some things may be slightly different or unfinished (which granted can still be the case in prototype pictures too but still). I just view the Hot Toys announcement as the official reveal because it's straight from them and they're showing pictures of what can generally be expected.

I will always view the official preorder update as the true reveal. You then know the expected release date and all product info and accessories. Until something actually goes up for PO real details are unknown.

An example of that was when Drax was first shown then went dark for months and months. I don't know the reasons behind the long wait and I don't really care as it's not a figure I'm getting, but I remember a lot of people saying they regretted buying the other GOTG members when they had no clue if or when they'd finally get him.

I thought he might not see a release from the first film but maybe the sequel (kind of like Loki not releasing until The Avengers) which while not ideal at least would still complete the team. Glad he's being released for those that collect the line.

You think Hot Toys will make figures for GotG2? With Gamorra not selling well and the trouble they went through with Drax, I have a feeling they might not bother with GotG2 anymore

They will definitely bother... The problems with Drax are seemingly taken care of, they won't have the same issues twice. (I believe likeness was the main issue) And Gamora is on waitlist on sideshow, it's still readily available elsewhere but that doesn't matter. We currently have 2 black widows, 2 hawkeyes, 3 war machines all available at the same time. Even if they don't make another Gamora, there are still other and newer characters to make from GOTG 2. And Hot Toys may still release more figures for the 1st movie, there are no set time-tables to release figures for a specific movie, sometimes we get figures from movies that are 3+ years old. I'm still holding out hope for Ronan.

Hot Toys had better produce a Spider-Man from this film. I love that he has his web shooters on the outside of his costume. Anyone else getting a slight old TV Spider-Man vibe from this costume? Not in a bad way though, a cool updated way.

I haven't seen the film but what I have seen of his suit and etc thus far looks absolutely amazing! HT would be fools if they didn't!

Yeah I see no reason to think that Spidey won't get made. Hot Toys has produced figures from the last three Sony films and I'm guessing there's a deal in place for the character's merchandising going forward.

I saw a screencap earlier than showed Spidey lined up with Team Stark at the airport, and it looked like he was the same height as Natasha.

I wasn't big on the costume in the trailer, but in the film, it looks really fantastic, almost like a second skin, it's pretty cool because you can really see the lean physique underneath. And I'm a big fan of the TASM2 costume which is pretty much perfection.

Agree 100%. I really liked the bigger eyes in ASM2 and if I was to purchase this new Spider-Man, I'd wait till they made the eyes bigger. Until then, I'll stick with my current Toby Spider-Man HT figure which I did put the head from ASM2 head on.
