Yea that apartment fight was probably one of the most brutal fights in the mcu. First time tom Holland Spider-Man actually went ham on someone and used his fist and brute strength. First time we see a villain just beat the villain spirit and kick his ***. Just being evil. Not trying to snap the world. Just wants to be a bad guy.
It was really personal and that’s why it works.

Exactly. Then to really send the message home was rubbing the salt in the wound. Goblin just taunting Spider-Man that he couldn't save May and said it was his fault for her death. 100% d*** move!

I’m very surprised by how goblin was handled. Thought we was going to be a dumb down version of what we had before and just throw razors and pumpkin bombs but we got fights as brutal as the first raimi spidey goblin fight minus the blood.
Also love to point out this movie drives home that Spider-Man is a character who is mostly tragic and makes great sacrifices in order to do what’s right. I’ve been waiting for that. Homecoming did it but it wasn’t as effective

Merry Christmas guys!

Here is some very fitting spoilery gifs for the holidays:

Yep Peter is definitely a top shelf hero in the MCU.

And what an aspirational superhero flick to hit at Christmas. All they had to do was press a button and all the bad guys would have instantly disappeared but instead the entire premise of the final battle was Peter and the gang fighting for the lives of the villains. You don't get more heroic than that.

Someone mentioned the seeming Christian themes and I agree. He was willing to lay down his life for the scum of the earth (with one of them even accepting salvation while the others rejected it each for their own separate reasons) and he did sacrifice his life so to speak for the sake of the world. When you think about it Peter Parker as the present world understood him basically ended up being "born" at Christmastime even though he technically existed prior to then which means they even out-Matrix'd the Matrix with the Messiah theme, lol.

Damn that’s clever! You definitely nailed it lol

Holy crap and Spider-Man was even a literal trinity in this! :panic: :thud: Tobey the Father, Holland the Sacrificial Son, and Garfield the Spirit ("I just want to say I Iove you guys!") :yess:

Suck it Matrix Dyad or whatever they've got going on now, lol.

Even knowing that I'll have it on Disney+ at some point at 2022, I think this is one that I need the physical media for. It'll be my first Blu-ray purchase since Endgame...
This is Sony's. I Googled the Spider-Man movies and I don't see them on D+. I read this too:

"Thanks to Sony's deal with Starz, No Way Home is slated to have its streaming release exclusively on the TV service early next year, following the movie's home release (normally about three months after its theatrical release).

Disney has access to Spider-Man content, but it likely won't stream No Way Home for some time -- until after the movie has had its run on Starz."

"At one point — this was before even the idea of Happy showed up, there was a moment where I felt that May, maybe she should just be with a woman, because Ben is gone and, who should she be with? And we were kind of talking about it."

She elaborated further, revealing that she wanted Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal to play May's girlfriend as a brief cameo:

"I actually really wanted Amy Pascal from Sony to be my girlfriend. I was like, 'No one even has to know, Amy. I'll just be in a scene and you'll be over there and I'll just be like, 'Hey,'' and it'll just be like a subtle thing."

I'm torn on this one. I want to own this on a physical disk asap BUT if this follows the trend of current Disney releases and they only offer the IMAX version digitally then I won't bother purchasing a physical copy. Hopefully Sony's involvement will allow for a proper IMAX disk release but if FFH is any indication I won't hold my breath...

Oh god please go watch what I just posted on the bluray thread.

The only reason I’m keeping my MCU discs are because of the 3D.

But It’s becoming more and more evident that compression artifacts, macro blocking and posterization problems that comes from the lower bit rate from streaming are not enough a reason to sacrifice the Imax ratio and dolby vision choices over the HDR10 on those damn Disney disks EVEN at the much higher bit rate.

Obviously the correct solution would be to have the higher bit rate discs have proper Imax ratio and DV!

Stupid Disney.

Dude my son and I watched FFH last night and the Dolby Vision streamed off Fandango was *gorgeous* (holy crap the reds in Spidey's suit and Mysterio's super green blasts) and did actually seem superior to anything I had on disk, lol.
