That would take some major you know what to do. It would IMO be the beginning of the end for this show to kill off a character like that.

I dunno. Rick is really failing at being a competent leader and has caused more grief and death than he's prevented. Seems like every time they start to make him the badass, he makes some DFI decision and ****s it up for everybody. While I don't think they'll kill him off, I don't think it'd have nearly the impact you're claiming. At this very point, killing off Daryl would hurt the show more.

The more I think about it, the more I think they could and will do it. They have performed the same type of character assassination on Rick as they did with Andrea last year. The writers made Andrea so unlikeable that they were practically forced to kill her off. They are doing the same thing with Rick by making him so much more weak and indecisive than his comic counterpart. I hope I am wrong as he is still my favorite character, but even I have to admit it is hard to find much to like about him these days.

I dont think you kill of Rick just yet, especially not at the risk of losing viewers, maybe 1 or 2 more seasons when the show has runs its course.

IMO it makes most sense to kill off Carl he is ageing fast, Chandler Riggs is almost 15 and I don’t think a Carl in his late teens will have as much as an impact as the 12 year old Carl in the comics.
In the comics I feel a lot of the relationship between him and Rick involves Rick worrying about him growing up in this world and the decisions he makes because of it. A 16 or 17 year old is pretty much grown up already so who cares if he makes mistakes.

I always though that Rick would just give up of this ever happened and the show would end up pretty boring. But my theory is that Judith is still alive so still heart broken he will then have a purpose to carry on. Because she is a baby they can also replace her every season and no one will really notice.
This will solve the problem of having to fast forward every season to keep up with Carl’s aging.

It seems like they have made Carl more likeable this season but I think they are building him up to make everyone more disappointed when he bites the dust.

There are lots of fans out there for Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Maggie but would anyone really miss Carl?

Aging Carl is a non-issue (not that I care if he lives or dies :lol). They've continually jumped time between seasons to allow for it.

Carl and Glenn should be next seasons character kill off. I agree that Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Maggie still have lots of screen time left.

The fact you don't care if he dies makes him an even better candidate :lol

If any of the other 3 get killed off I can see there being an uproar from fans whereas Carl it would be sad but no one would really mind.

True, and not denying that :lol, but doing so for age purposes is completely unnecessary. Honestly, the time to kill him off would've been when his own parents couldn't give enough of a **** about him that they let him wander off. Would've been better to have him gobbled over Dale. Reverse the situation and let Dale deal with the consequences his lack of testicles caused. THAT is a good story. :lol

Killing off a character you care about makes more of an impact than killing off one no one cares about. This show likes to shock, so I can see Rick possibly being killed off.

I'm really hoping that "sheer brutality" is the cannibals. Introducing Negan this early would be the death knell for the series.

TV Rick = Comics Dale?

Only thing about killing Rick or Daryl is that this show relies on them in a way that shows like Game of Thrones don't. Game of Thrones pretty much anyone can die since there are a surplus of interesting characters able to step in or be introduced. Walking Dead, on the other hand, is built on sand, in that regard. Take out Rick and Daryl and you really haven't got anyone that glues the show together. And in terms of shock... don't see it. Show is pretty safe, given the context.

I'd like to think they're finally gonna let rick get his testies after wantonly slaughtering the cannibals. But admittedly, maybe I'm being completely naive.... AGAIN! :lol

I was wondering when the last time any of you read the comics during the prison arc. Rick is kind of weak (in many ways, worse than his tv counterpart) It is largely in part the cannibals and what happens on the way back from Kentucky that make into more the awesome Rick he is in the comics now.

I dont follow the comics, safe to assume Judith was zombie fodder at the end of season 4?

In the comics, Judith died with Lori when the Governor attacked the prison. We haven't seen a body and someone posted a gif of what looked like Tyrese carrying what looked like Judith toward the buses during the attack. That's the best bet.
