Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront Twi'lek

Thanks jabba29. Sorry to say that I don't sell my work and I don't take on commission work either. The Hoth Rebels I've done are mostly just made from pieces gathered from the Sideshow Hoth Luke and Han figures. There's quite of bit of customization involved though like carving out the hats to fit on the head sculpts and some other parts that I've made by hand like the rank badge.

Thanks for the interest. :)

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront Twi'lek

Yeah, the Hoth troopers are a lot of work and pretty expensive.

If you factor in the cost of buying multiple Luke Hoth figures and custom made parts you are looking at $200+ per figure.

As Tyler mentioned, carving out the hats is a MAJOR pain in the arse. I have done 3 troopers, everytime I dreaded carving the sculpt out of the hat. The rest of the custom was really fun to do. You should give it a go.

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront Twi'lek

Yeah carving out the heads are a real *****. I've done 7 now I think and somehow have managed to not slice my fingers open. There's also a lot of carving to do on the respective head sculpt you plan to use because there's only so much you can carve out of the hat.

The cost to do one was considerably less when the parts were still freshly available but now TA and other places aren't parting Luke out very much.

I've gotta say though that my Hoth troopers are probably my favorites out of all my customs to date. Just something about Hoth captivates me. :D

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront Twi'lek

I see you take hoth clothes but i missed some like white coat..Can you give reference of part used / home made parts ?
And do you sell at least what you home made on hoth rebel?like the rank badge or other?

After 200€ for 1 hoth rebel is not expensive when you look job made..
I know i ask a lot but i love them so much i really need have one
Best regards

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront Twi'lek

Sorry man I really don't sell anything that I crank out. Even the little stuff like the rank badges or anything. I'm no business man.

Re: Spud's Customs - Battlefront Twi'lek

I understand very well, thankx for answer,
Can you only tell me what is the white coat used?
best regards

Re: Spud's Customs - Hoth Leia

It's the Hot Toys Leia head. Had to pry off the buns, shave down the sides, attach some ears, adjust the hairline, and then add the real hair. There's still some refining I need to do. Still looks kinda crappy. It's a pain trying to match the paint apps.
