The Variant line isn't going to be 100% accurate to any specific source. It's like the DC Comics Variant line. SQEX sees Variant as meaning a unique variation of the character. They're also really heavy on the armor, and less on organic designs elements. That said, I think Kain is really close in vibe to his previous versions. If you're looking only at the Dissidia model you're not looking enough. Yeah, there's a lot of purple, but I think it looks great. Just look at the original art:

The PAK figures has less purple the most versions of Kain. The gold on the things and biceps breaks up the purple well.

That's Ground Zeroes Sneaking Suit Snake, not Punished Snake. I really like both of them though, definitely picking them up. Maybe even two of GZ Snake. I just hope he's scaled right this time so he's bigger than Solid Snake like he should be.

I'm not picking up the Peace Walker stuff, I don't like how Snake is too short, and I'm not a big fan of the style from that game. I prefer the MGS3/MGS5 looks for Big Boss. I do like how Miller turned out though, but would prefer a MGS1 version. Which'll never happen, lol.

Thats the problem with PAK, they ***k up the scale every once in a while, gonna get every MGS figure I can anyway, but I really wish HT gets their hands on this

I was smart enough to grab two Ninjas in the beginning to have one with the pulse rifle arm displayed and lucky me the Red Ninja was shown to come with the open mask which is what I display now.

You were smart enough to get any of those when they came out. I've been collecting sideshow statues for years and never gave collectibles like these a second glance, until I saw them in person.

Those metal gear figures are awesome.

Yeah, PAK can be challenging. It seems like they're getting better though, I hope. At least with MGS it seems like they've established a consistent scale with the start of the MGS1 figures, as the MGS1 & MGS2 figures are in the same scale. I'm hopeful the MGS5 figures will be too. The PW figures aren't so much out of scale, as Big Boss in particular is himself. Miller seems to be a decent size I think. IDK. lol.

I like the HT figures okay, Boss isn't a great likeness though.. I mean, she's close but ugly. They missed. Sneaking Suit Snake is good though, but definitely not the version I wanted. I like the Fatigues version more.

Me too. It's the best likeness I've seen so far. That said, unpainted stuff always seem to look better. lol.

If only the women weren't so over the top (you know what I mean, it's too gratuitous for my taste and it cheapens the characters imo) and the Superman and Flash weren't the mess they are in terms of design, then I'd consider these. Especially Aquaman and Cyborg are the first that really impress me. They really get away with that style. Batman I like him overall, although I don't see the point in a sword for Batman (swords are made to kill) and the cape hooks are just plain retarded.

Oh well, although some are cool, I stand by what I said: woudl've preferred this effort had been put in expanding existing lines.

As soon as I hear something about SF I will post it here. Ken & Sakura just came out, some places still haven't gotten their stock. So the line is still going, we just have to wait and see if another volume gets released. I think it will, there is a new SFIV game coming out next year which means they'll probably want to keep putting out merch.

Well, I'm curious whether they're going to do an original version of Kain. His colors have evolved much from the original FFIV from his Turquiose/Blue to a Dark Blue in the DS version to the Purple we see in Dissidia. Personally, I prefer the dark blue.

I wonder if they'll do Cecil as well.

I hope so, I just got Ken and Sakura a few weeks ago. I actually like their SF IV line, got all the figures released so far, minus the variants from the first 2 volumes.
