Yeah my earliest memory of Tekken was playing it on PS1. I went with my Dad over one of his friends houses, as he had to take me around with him that day. They had a Playstation and were playing Tekken. After that I remember the arcade machines. The graphics were incredible. I'm going to have to see if they have the PS1 games on PSN. I hold it in the same regard as Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and King of Fighters. It's a fantastic franchise, but it's a shame it seems a bit under appreciated these days.

I think Tekken 1 and 2 are on PSN. Tekken is my preferred fighting game. I didn't like SF4, I think Alpha 3 and Third Strike were better games. The 2011 Mortal Kombat was an excellent game. Its a shame that most people don't like Tekken, they just seem to rush at anything capcom throws at them.

I'm not very good at fighting games, but I love the characters and the games. I'll have to download the first two Tekken games, those are classics. Yeah, Capcom has people's attention now, but if the crap games continue that won't last. I haven't even played SFIV yet, haha. I think I'll wait and buy the latest version that is coming out next year.

Tekken seems underappreciated, but it really isn't. It's actually the best selling and most played fighting game in the world. Here in the US you don't hear about it that much, but in Asia it's insanely huge. I mean seriously it's had multiple movies, manga, anime, toys, etc.. and is played a lot in the arcades so the console sales being low aren't really a factor into its overall insane revenue.

Huh, it's weird then that the PAK figures didn't catch on then, since they're some of the best figures SQEX has made. I guess it's just in America then where it has less of a following and sales, since I'm pretty sure we're mainly console/PC driven gaming and not arcades.

Why isn't any of this stuff in the US. I would eat it up. I remember seeing that Tekken animated movie awhile back which was pretty entertaining. The live action Tekken movie was really bad. It made no sense at all.

Its good to hear that Tekken is popular around the world, it means I won't have to worry about the franchise dying off.

I'm not great at fighting games either. I just don't have the patience to practice all day. I don't see a point unless you have an good number of friends who are actively playing it.

Yep. Arcades are dead here, but in Asia Namco Bandai gets insane revenue off of the Gundam vs games (excellent fighters btw) and Tekken.

And there's no logic to PAK as far as I can tell. They make figures of the most random stuff and sometimes they keep going, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the scales line up, often they do not. They dance to the beat of their own drums.

I wish arcades weren't dead here, some of my fondest memories are of playing arcade games. That's what got me into Street Fighter and fighting games to begin with.

Yeah, I really need to spend more time learning how to play fighting games, lol.

I've wanted to try the Gundam vs games out, I'll have to do that at some point.

SQEX does seem very inconsistent in their decisions in regards to PAK. Which is one reason I love them, but also dislike them, lol. It can be frustrating. At least they seem to have a good thing going with Metal Gear Solid, Street Fighter, and DC. I don't see those lines stopping anytime soon. Well, SF could be done, but it went on for a long time. I think it will continue for another volume or two. Fingers crossed.

Are they planning on making PAK Marvel? Do they have licenses on doing it? Dream come true if it is. DC vs Marvel display

If you have a PS3 you can buy Gundam Extreme vs or wait for Full Boost, which is coming out soon. PS3 games are region free since we have the same blu ray region as Japan. It is an excellent game. Very very fun.

I want more PAK Tekken figures and I want the whole cast of Cowboy Bebop figures also. Come on Square Enix! They've already abandoned the Final Fantasy Dissadia line. My display doesn't look complete with just Cloud, Squall, and Judge. Then it's just lonely Spike and Vicious, then lonely Kazuya and Jun....

I definitely want more Tekken. I've been looking at the new Advent Children stuff and its hard to really justify putting down 80 per figure. I have Sephiroth, Vincent, and Tifa from the original play arts line and each of those cost me 20 bucks.

edit: That's weird it did a double post. Sorry about that.

It's cool. For some reason there the forum has been doing a lot of double posts recently. Yeah, it's tough to shell out $80 a figure, but I mean, you're still getting 3-4 figures compared to one figure from Hot Toys. It's all relative I guess.

Yea $80 is nothing to a hot toys figure.

The prices are on going up on everything. I don't let it deter me, I just change what needs to be changed so I can keep collecting. Sometimes that means cutting something from my collection. PAK might be that for someone else, that's understandable. We all have our preferences. I feel like these figures are worth the price increase though.

A lot of people have mixed feelings about PAK, but honestly, I own 17 PAK figures and I love everyone of them. That doesn't mean they are perfect but I think they are second to none. You either like the SQEX style or you don't.

Anyway.. I probably didn't even need to go there, haha. Just felt like saying that for awhile I guess.

Is anyone else looking forward to seeing Punished Snake & Bahamut painted? I'm hoping they show those off at NYCC.

Thr hight price better quality but with hot toys I dont see that much .pak on the other hand have nice sculpts but bad paint apps.

Yeah, I don't see any increase in quality with Hot Toys at this point. I stopped collecting because I felt like they had a drop in quality. The sculpts are hit and miss in terms of accuracy, and the paint seems to have reached a high point then started dropping again. I expect perfection with something like Hot Toys, or at least as close as realistically possible. They seem to feel otherwise, and present us with "good enough" more often than not imo.

With PAK the paint could be better, that's for sure. I think they are improving every year, but it should be better than it is by now. Eventually I'll probably start doing paint work on my figures that need it.

Just watched Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on Blu-ray for the first time. I enjoyed it much more than the first time I watched it for some reason. Even more excited at the prospect of a full line of FFVII figures!

My only concern is that Barret looks a little odd in the movie. Hopefully they take some artistic liberties with his likeness and come up with an alternative to the fishnet shirt.

@Krec9: You're signature and avatar reminded me that the second movie in the Golden Age trilogy had been released. Immediately ordered it on Amazon and watched it. Amazing! I'm enjoying it even more than the '97 anime and have my fingers crossed that they'll go past the Eclipse into the Black Swordsman era. Now when is the US release for the last part of the Golden Age trilogy?!
