Sideshow,

Please leave the sculpting ALL Marvel to the Goregroup and/or Pablo V.

Thank you.

-Toe

I agree 1000%!!!!! Leave the Marvel sculpts to the masters. Once we've tasted near perfection, how can Sideshow expect us to settle for anything less? Especially at the same price points for inferior products? Insane.

I am in the same corner with everyone who prefers this pose over some weird action pose (bcs I like Hank mcCoy)

Pro;
- I like the pose, especially the stack of books.

Con;
- The R2-D2 he is sitting on (I prefer a cabinet or anything else)
- This outfit doesn't go with his thinking theme at all. The golden gauntlets are uuugly and distracting, imo the gold is poorly painted already..
- The price at this point.

I like just about everything about this statue. Would be a perfect piece for a study/library area if I have room for one. Only thing I am shaky on is the NRD. Too bad he's not my type of char.

This one is definitely better than the Colossus comiquette which I am trying to resist the temptation of canceling.

It just doesnt have that "wow" factor. Also, it reminds me too much of my "Reading Hulk" bust

Lol....I like that the book is upside down.

ummm....its $27...not exactly wallet busting. :monkey1

Chris

On one piece no, but if you are like me and many other collectors on these boards you collect cross license which means a deposit on multiple statues adds up and knowing the cash is gone before seeing the final product impacts being able to deposit on something else. I don't blame collectors for being selective even if some are looking at it as only $27.

What a blockbuster piece!!!! I cant believe people are crying over $27.00 rather then how boring the pose is. I dropped $500 on football last week! Thank you Chargers for the burn.

So because you gamble away half a grand at the ready means what? Some of us don't light our cigars with hundreds.

What if they just cancel the regular version since the demand is so epic for the exclusive. :toilet_cl

I wouldn't call it EPIC, especially in Marvel. They've had two minute sell outs, I'd call that Epic. Gray Hulk PF if released right now exactly the same with an NRD (which would have been abour $50 charged right away) I guarantee you would have still sold out within minutes. The piece is selling better than I think anyone expected but the real test will come in about five months when its time to ship.

I think ash was kidding about the demand being epic.

It will be interesting to see what happens in 5 months. I don't think many will order and give up the 10% deposit, but who knows. Even if they do, Sideshow is still up $27 and can still sell the stock to someone else. The major hump will be getting the initial 200 deposited.

I think it's a good choice for this piece. If they went without a NRD they would get a false estimation of the ES again and mass cancellations come shipping time. The lower ES also probably helped a few more sales.

Probably about the gambling too but without smilies the world just goes on assuming. Either way it IS selling better than I even thought it would, should be an interesting piece to watch. Actual interesting not like Alex's Pippin interesting.

I was a bit skeptic at first but the more I see the pictures the more I like it...
I read in a previous post that it would be a nice piece for a study and to be honest I find that idea very very appealing...

Yeah defintely a nice piece for a study or library.

That said, although I like it more, the more I look at it, that still doesn't say much as I didn't really like it in the first place. I will say that the pose makes it very easy to display so shelf real estate shouldn't be a reason not to get this one meesa thinks

I guess Sideshow is following suit with the following comiquettes in their respective astonishing costumes.

looks like Angel's Comiquette will be based off that costume, and most likely the Storm and Cyclops comiquettes will be the same. The stupid thing is that beast, nightcrawler, and colossus are not the same scale.

Im looking forward to collecting the entire series, especially storm, cyclops, and angel... but Sideshow kinda dropped the ball by making Beast in a different scale... theres no way its 1/5... since Nightcrawler's comiquette is 19" tall... regardless of base, and Beast is 17" tall regardless of base. I still think they are great statues but a little disappointing.

The PFs on the other hand, I hope, are all same scale and all based on the artwork of Jim Lee. I even hope that they do Jubilee.

If your theory is correct, then they have to redo Nightcrawler and Wolverine Com. since both are not wearing their current Astonishing costume.

The pose of the Beast doesn't go with Crawler and Colossus either.

The PF should be the same scale.

^ ur right actually... looking at Nightcrawlers costume Im a bit baffled...

Beast, Angels and Colossus are clearly Astonishing. I thought Nightcrawler's was as well... but its a little off. Where is this from then?

....

I think Sideshow will for sure do another Wolverine comiquette considering 2006 was the last time they had a Wolverine comiquette... and since Xforce Wolverine is already in the diorama.. Astonishing Wolverine seems like a possible candidate.

Thats odd about Nightcrawler though.... I thought it was Astonishing but I guess not.... where is it from? I hope Storm's comiquette is Astonishing or at least Retro Mohawk then.

Here's a rough apple comparison manip of them. Colossus and Beast (17"_ stand at the same height while crawler is 2" taller (19").
