Anway, I thought that ATOC was going to be the first PT clone released by Medicom? Are they releasing both, or am I mabye an idiot?

no that was just a rumor..but i'd bet on it in the future.

but i hope a bike scout gets made first.

AWESOME! I had to work last night, so I'm getting all this sweet news now, that's too cool! I hope they get the Medicom Blackhole Stormtrooper whn that becomes available too! That'd be great!

I just hope this isnt Sideshows test to see what people will pay for 12" clones. It is really weird that they did this on this day of all days when the military line starts up.
I doubt that. Everybody here knows that Medicom is more expensive then SSC, be it valid or not. I think the reason for the big price difference lies not only in the quality of the products. It's also because the Japanese are used to pay more for these kind of things. Life's more expensive in Japan. I belive that the Medicom toys are overprized measured to the US and EU markets and Sideshow would never take the Medicom prises as a guide line for their own products.

I'll be getting one of these clones, even if I speculate it's going to be expensive.

VCD Yoda
Medicom Price: 7,140 JPY - including tax (approx. $ 61)
SSC price: $ 59.99

RAH NGE Asuka
Medicom Price: 13,440 JPY - including tax (approx. $ 115)
SSC price: $ 115

RAH Johnny Rotten
Medicom Price: 17,640 JPY - including tax (approx. $ 151)
SSC price: $ 150

RAH Wolverine
Medicom Price: 17,640 JPY - including tax (approx. $ 151)
SSC price: $ 99

RAH Clone Trooper*
Medicom Price: 17,640 JPY - including tax (approx. $ 151)
SSC price: wait and see in next week's newsletter!

*Please note that Medicom's armored figures are not necessarily more expensive than the unarmored figures. In fact, they are equally overprized. :D To be complete, I should add that they sell unarmored and armored 12" figures that are even more expensive too.

Is it just me or does that CloneTrooper look similar in design to the Gentle Giant Animated Maquette line.

Thanks for the great explanation. I did order the Yoda but that will be the only Medicom product I will be buying. I wonder if this will be a fast sell out time.

This I will have to debate on getting. I may pass if it is overpriced and will wait to see if SS will offer their own line.

The bad news:

So with SS distributing this Medicom Clone Trooper, logic dictates that means they are going to hold off a bit before announcing their own SS Clones.

:monkey2

We'll probably see Hoth Rebels before Clones.

Oh man I hope not! Who the hell wants rebels? I bet a lot of people will b!tch and complain because it's not a figure that they want, damn whatever the majority likes.

I was actually going to say the same thing. I can only hope that it just means it will be a while befor we see a normal AOTC clone which is what this looks like with no specific coloring.

Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw it in the newsletter. :monkey2

man if ppl only knew the quality of the stormtrooper..so nice! i'm sure this will be even better. totally worth the price through SS, hope they get more of the SW medi line.

Meh... Not excited in the least. I'm sure it will be cool but for what I am trying to build, I have no room for Midget clones. ;)

what do you mean animated?, because it looks awesome to me. Looks like what a clone is supposed to, not a monkey.

Good, gives them time to make new bodies! :D

Probably a bad choice of words. Somehow it looks cartoonish. I can't put my finger on why, that's just the first impression I had when I saw it. It could just be lighting.

yup and thats hardly a final pic. I expect it to take peoples breaths away.
