Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

I don't mind the boots and I plan on removing the corset. But, I HATE the fact that they switched/reversed the colors on her mask/pig tails! It's supposed to be either all black on her left side and all red on her right. Not half and half. Even their own control/key art of Harley has it the classic way! :slap

Is this a mistake? Well if it isn't, I guess I'll have to paint it the correct way myself. :gah:

Damn you SS! Why couldn't you just stick with the classic design? :monkey2

EDIT: Maybe the pigtails are removable/posable? Looks like there is a seam there. If so, then I'll just pop them off and switch them. I hope this to be true.

The pig tails have to be a mistake since the artwork shows it the correct way.
I would have liked an unmasked sculpt but I am fine with the 2 portraits.

It does make me think other figures in the line will come with alternate masked looks as opposed to secret identities.
I have a feeling Batman will come with a neutral as well as an angry sculpt as opposed to a Bruce Wayne sculpt. Maybe one with short ears and one with long ears.

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

The pigtails were also correct in the old picture, so it's odd it's like this here. I do think they'll be removable, with a bit of work.

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

I get your point, but at the same time, the point of these early versions by SSC are supposed to be their take on the character and not directly from any specific comic/artist. In terms of quality, I'm pretty sure the SSC one will win at least in costuming. Is this a definitive version? Maybe for some and maybe not for others... The hush one from medicom is going to need a lot of work to bring it up to par IMO and I don't too much care for Jim Lee's art for the most part with a few exceptions so the medicom one is already a no no

I am a big fan of Jim Lee's art when it comes to certain characters like Batman and Catwoman. I'm not a fan of Lee's Superman and Joker. Love his 52 Wonder Woman. You bring up definitive Harley and I agree, neither SSC nor Medi has made the definitive Harley but I think it is also based on your preference. Sideshow's could be the definitive Harley for some. With some tweaking it could be for me. I guess my point is that Medicom, like 'em or hate 'em, is going for a specific style which, to me, makes their Harley more accurate.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your favorite interpretation of Harley Quinn? The Wonder Woman PF thread is wallpapered with everyone's favorites, mine being Ed Benes and Adam Hughes. I think my favorite picture of Harley Quinn was done by the master Neal Adams.

I'd bet the pigtails are separate but they may be glued in so it may take some heating/prying to get them off. Then some slight touch up but all in all relatively easy to switch them around

If it comes to that, I think I'd rather just paint them the correct color instead. With my lack of customizing talent, I might mess up that nice sculpt lol.

I thought she would've come with an unmasked COH as well. Wishful thinking on my part, but the second HS does look pretty nice, so I don't mind.

I know right? I don't really mind when a production piece changes slightly from the prototype or even modernizing/stylizing on an outdated design (like Ivy's midriff on the PF). But the reversed colors on her pigtails, wtf? :dunno

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

Ever since I got a print of it I've loved this take on her, by Oliver Nome.

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

Pretty scant set of accessories, much of what was on those blueprint teasers last year is missing (same with the Joker btw).
Stupid design, I was expecting a purely nostalgic approach.

According to the specification the corset is a separate piece so gonna PO.
Will have to find better sculpts and classic boots but at least the suit is not a problem any more.

better than the medicom one
Dog **** is better then Medicom's comic figures.

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

The corset didn't bother me too much back when they first showed off this figure, but after seeing the final product I have to say it looks really weird with that corset.

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

Does anyone know how to get the hi-res pics of the Harley gallery? I've tried swapping out the product numbers, but it's not working anymore.

Those pics are too small, especially the one with all the hands. I can barely make out what they are.

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

Ordered been waiting i been holding off not buying the dc direct version because thier a size bigger slightly 13'' love the base cant wait for my jokers to fight over her ha ha...

Re: SSC Harleyquinn 1/6th Scale figure

I look forward to getting this, she will look great with Mr. J after some mods. I will need to see how she will look without corset if it's removable. But I am super excited about her being available to buy so yey!!!
