Great pic.

I really like the flexibility of the replacement body I used.

I thought I better get a shot with the other head option.

For those of you that have taken off the outfit. How exactly did you take it off? Not the corset. The spandex outfit. I understand the usage of the seam ripper, but surprisingly SSC did a great job of closing this thing off. Where did you start and how did you sew it back on, so that it at least looks as good as how SSC left it? Here is a quick representation of the back. Thanks for any information given.

What I did was pinch fabric on both sides of seam, tug and there should be at least one thread that is visible. Use that as your start point. Never start at neck since it's usually stitched tighter. I have found center of back and at end of seams easiest.

The Harley I have now I could not for life of me unstitch the neck. So I just lifted it gently over neck joint. You take as much that you can free her from costume. Which should be apparent because it's the only area stitched by hand.

While un-seaming it just pay attention to how it was stitched. Or look up YouTube on blind stitch or invisible stitching.

Since neck of head is small. The only body I see you can use is playtoy. Most if the modern bodies have a big neck. And playtoy will accept sideshows rubber ****s. You'll have to pop arms off playtoy and sideshow to swap ****s. Since sideshows rubber parts has a narrower neck.

If you want to try a full Frankenstein you can it looks doable but the shoulder blades on sideshows bodies are also prone to cracking and breaking up by the screw. For some reason where it's screwed in at in both crotch and shoulder is the weakest.

I think it's a material issue not QC in general.

Thank you for the terms. Would have never came up with Blind Stitch or Invisible Stitching.:duff
Did you just undo the top part where the different colored materials cross? Or, is it stitched by hand from about the back of the neck to her lower back?

When I have done it on body suits I start at just above waist seam and go up to neck. This looks like the way sideshow did. And when you work up to neck your seams do get smaller/tighter. That prevents it from coming undone. It's the center of back where red meets black. Use a black or invisible thread. You'll see where they did the machine stitch right away because it's protected by a back stitch. And it's tighter than the stitching done at neck.

There is another stitch called the ladder stitch. This is what sideshows looks like. Griping under at red then catch fabric at fold on black and move diagonally to red and across to black and pull tight. And repeat.

It's called the ladder stitch because if you left it loose it resembles a rope ladder in appearance. I recommend a bright light. Small needle and patience.

Again, thank you! I would have started at the top and worked down:slap
Not very comfortable with this kind of custom work, so I appreciate your time. Your info. has given me enough confidence to proceed.

Yes to be a customizer it's much like a jack of all trades. I can't Frankenstein bodies yet. Someday I'll get courage and not fear the Dremil to do it. What I want to do is what coomodel did take parts from bodies that worked and cast them and make my own bodies. This cuts out having to buy bodies all the time when they become rare.

:lol Give me anything to dremel, break apart and I have no fear. Start talking about sewing, stitching, etc. I fold like a cheap blanket.

I took off the outfit. Thanks, Groovy!
Wow, the body is a piece of crap. It's all melted and cracked. Does Catwoman have the same body?

hello i just got sideshow harley and joker. I really love this figure. But i have problem with the harley joint it seems really easy to break. Is there anyone try to swap harley body ? I confuse with the jumpsuit harley. Am i must to tear off the suit and move to the new body ?

Nice photo, make me regret passing harley.

Can you take a pic for me? Now I'm worried:horror

I might have to take Groovy's advice. I too fear sewing :(

Will do. I threw away the small pieces, so no pics of those. I'm thinking some of the sticky stuff is glue which ate away at the plastic. If you have this figure and you feel small plastic pieces take them out ASAP. Some have that sticky stuff and could stain the outfit. Mine started to stain.
Sewing the back of the outfit was a pain in the ***. Since the material stretches it's difficult to sew. Major props to those children with tiny hands working for 3 cents an hour (sorry bad attempt at humor). For being my first attempt I think it came out fairly decent. I'm tempted to put the corset back on to hide my sewing.

Thanks for the pics!

But OMG!!!:horror It's worse then I thought. This is what a $190 buys you folks.:monkey4

Highly disappointing.

Adhesives are corrosives. Plus this material wasn't stable. IMO all Harley Quinn's, baroness, and catwomen will succumb to distruction In under 3yrs.
It depends on pose, how much adhesive was used, how tight the screws were tightened in the problem area's. I hope sideshow learned from the experience and maybe test a different material for body.

I was told that the black material can't handle any stress the thinner it is casted in. The crotch piece is very thin. It's like gi joe 84 all over again but those busted off because we were brutal as kids. These break off by disintegration.

The only warning sign I can tell you that you will have before it happens to your figure is feel for black bits or lumps in costume it's showing the black material is disintegrating and that you need to swap ASAP especially on Harley before it stains the red section. Because it produces a black powder. And adhesive acts like a ooze. It's gross.
