harley remains my favorite from the line. just a shame that the female bodies are so brittle. mine hasn't broken (yet) but i really haven't posed her more than twice in the 2 years i have had her. which is a sad because this dollie just demands to be played with and offers so many display possibilities.
Good for you, you managed to take care of a delicate figure in 2 years. I broke my catwoman only a week after i received her. And that is the very first figure i broke since i started collecting.

One warning, When trying to get that boot sole shot I twisted when I should have turned and popped her leg out of her hip. I was able to pop it back in without derobing her though. At first I looked at trying to get the costume off to fix her, but she's sewn in there pretty good - I wouldn't want to have to do that. So be careful with how you bend the legs - nothing too extreme or you could pop her joint out.

I posed her perfectly several times then got a crazy pose idea and did the same, then popped her leg out... Then my ***** friend popped her other leg out to "see how it works" *facepalm*. How did you pop her leg back into her hip?
There's no way I could get the body suit off without ruining it...

Don't know how he popped it back in since it not a ball-joint that just pops on and off. The joint in the leg is a joint that moves up and down and it won't just pop out because it's not designed to do that. The joint on the body is a disk-type that is held together when you bring together the front and back of the body and screw the two pieces together. That joint is also not designed to just pop on and off. Not to say that you can't pop it back in, but I don't see it popping out or in without some damage.

I have the same problem with Catwoman, SSC bodies suck

After buying this figure last year i was thrilled as it was my first 1/6 scale figure!
I noticed that the hands fell off easily but other than that i had no other issues, and after a few poses i left her in a fairly vanilla pose for a few months at a time.

It wasn't until i checked this forum for the first time today that i realised that people were having issues with breakage around the legs and such, i checked my figure and sure enough after moving her leg only once, it snapped right out of the socket!

At first i wasn't too worried, i mean she's been in vanilla pose for so long it wouldn't really matter if she had a dangly leg because i wouldn't notice it, but then i found a little black dot, which looked like a stain on the red section of her waist, i rushed back to the forums and read a post saying that the black plastic, when disintegrating could stain the red suit because of some black powder in the plastic or something?
So i've now undone the suit and taken out the body completely. (In doing this her other leg snapped off too, which was lovely) and the plastic looks awfully cheap, and nasty. I mean barbies are probably made out of stronger stuff. which is really disheartening seeing as in Australia i had to spend $250 on this figure.

Ive been researched replacement bodies all afternoon, and I'm hoping i can come up with a solution, but I'm just wondering does anyone know if there any chance of a refund from sideshow? should i bother?

I'm sorry to all of the other people on here that have had this same experience!

Sideshow is not going to give you a refund at this point. They are aware of the body issues. You paid top dollar for a defective product. SSC does not care. To be fair, HT's would not give you a refund either. They produce defective products and you are stuck with it. Just so you know, SSC is horrible at creating bodies. When they are first released, they have many issues.

I've been going quickly through the posts on this thread. So is the concensus the Play Toy 2.0 body - (medium breast) for the best body to swap for?

Thanks

You could go with that but I would go with a Very Cool small busted body.

Do you have pics with that body?

No because mine has not broken yet but if she does that's what I'm going to do. I've test fitted the all the parts on the Very Cool body with out the body suit on and every thing fits fine. And you don't have to swap the chest piece ether.

Went to go pose my Harley for the first time in months and noticed black stains on her waist and butt. Discovered all the handy info in this thread and acted quickly. Helps to live a block away from Toy Anxiety. I removed her suit successfully and saw all the horror underneath. Fun stuff. Glad I paid $200 for that bs...

So which body will work with those feet pegs? Play Toy Purple Girl body does not fit. Is that one of the 2.0 bodies though?

And how can I clean the black melted plastic pieces off of her suit?

It was melted under her bust and I had to break it off for her torso to even move again. The leg instantly broke out of the pelvis just lifting it. I didn't even notice at first. So I junked the body, but now I need to find out which to replace it with exactly (that Toy Anxiety has in stock) and how to clean the crap off the suit without fading or tearing it.

I am sure this has been talked about but if you remove the suit how is the best way. and if you cant sew what are options to get it back together?

Also if its corroding badly, the suit will stick to the plastic in some places so you'll have to carefully pull it away from it.

What's the deal with this corroding plastic? This is the first I've heard of it. Fortunately, my Harley is still intact, but it's been back in the box for months due to some home renovations. Is the plastic actually breaking down? If that's the case, and SSC isn't going to do anything about it, I will really have to think about continuing to purchase these figures.

Yep, read the last 10 or so pages. Whatever glue or something they used in the black plastic for Harley, Catwoman, and Barroness bodies are unstable and disintegrate over time. I've posed mine twice in the last year, and the shelf is dark and cool. Went to pose her again and discovered the mess of the body eating away.

Still looking for tips on cleanig the suit of plastic, and for a body that her boots pegs work with...

Well, that's really crappy. When I spend $200 on a figure, I don't expect to have it deteriorate or break under normal usage. Are people just pre-emptively replacing the body before it disintegrates? Any general consensus as to the best aftermarket body to use? I have some sewing skills so I'm not afraid to undo some of the seams in order to get the costume off and make a body swap.

I liked the Play Toy 2.0 body, but I've seen some really nice looking Harley figures using those all rubber bodies. I didn't want to spend more than I had to, so I went with Play Toy. If you go the all rubber bodies you'll definitely have to choose a bust size you like. I liked what came with the SS body and switching the breast plates was very simple. If you like what came with the SS body all you have to do is find any breast size Play Toy 2.0 and switch out the breast plate.

As far as the staining goes mine had a small stain on the black material, so cleaning it wasn't needed. Don't know how you would go about cleaning it since it sort of feels like tar. It's material I would think you can use a detergent and it probably wouldn't harm it. My fear would be that as it was cleaning it it would also be spreading it.

Although the black plastic feels very brittle I don't believe that's the major cause of the breakdown. It's whatever adhesive they used. The pelvis disk joint would have probably broken over time for some without the adhesive, but SS gluing the rubber parts down was a big mistake that wasn't needed.

The adhesive broke down the plastic.

I keep losing my posts on mobile whenever I edit them...

Her boots don't attach to the Play Toys. They're pegs while Play Toys are ball joints. And by rubber bodies do you mean Phicen? Those are also ball joints. Idk about the newest ones though.

And the guy who wanted to remove her suit, there's a single black thread holding her back together, zig zagging upto the neck section. Just stretch the suit apart until you see it and cut the thread and it'll come apart pretty easily. Don't undo the neck or the lower back sections. But once the back section is open just pull it over her neck joint. And be careful with pulling the fabric out of the plastic. As for getting it back on, I think I read here that it's called a ladder stitch? Or to just look up invisible seams. I was thinking no-sew glue but trading one glue for another would probably be stupid.

Looking around a bit, and if regular tips for getting regular tar out of regular clothes will count, it just needs to be lubricated with oil, wd 40 or goo gone and then wiped or scrapped away. I might try goo gone later. Maybe on the black side first though lol.
