I can easily see it hurting sales of this, people have already been dropping the throne not knowing when the figure'd ship, then before he ships we hear about the PF. If people are planning to get this essentially for the Emperor sitting on the throne and find a PF even more alluring than a 1/6 figure, especially since the PF will have lights, 2 portraits like this and be posable, then even if it takes another year plus to come out, if they're on a fixed budget, they'll cancel the figure now because they know what they really want is going to be made.

If we just had a Q&A reference to the PF, I could see that having little impact, but we got a lot of detail on the PF from SDCC and it's pretty well underway, certainly enough information to make people who'd rather a PF pass on this figure and wait.

Timing's always a factor too, if this shipped before SDCC, maybe it'd be a differenct story, but with all the new announcements of late from Sideshow and Hot Toys, there's a lot of competition for people's money.

Is it a bit of a factor? Like I said for some sure I would bet it is. However, the throne issues, timing of shipping with other items are much more of a factor. Most collectors will order this keep it till another version comes out and sell or get both. At least has been my experience watching folks here.

I suppose with most of the Jedi dead and Vader to do is work, there'd be no need to have a lightsaber, but it is an interesting thing to think about, he had one, surely he could make a new one, but in the OT, he's saberless.

After seeing ROTS, I kinda figured he had a lightsaber strapped to his arm in ROTJ as well, but couldn't get to it with Vader pinning his arms.

the ROTJ version is not popular, so you think Sideshow is gonna work on expensive figures from the 6th most popular Star Wars film....?

I dont get why the exlusive is available - I mean, 1000 pieces aint that high....and a second head is normally a huge draw. Its concerning, and should be for Sideshow

Between the fraility of the throne and the PF annoucement, Sideshow continues to be their own worst enemy sometimes. They need to stop having same characters from different lines crossing over like this.

I may very well purchase a thrown after I get my Emperor. I had ordered one originally but canceled, but seeing the pics of the figure in it are making me reconsider. I'm really concerned about the sturdiness of the throne after seeing all the ones that have arrived broken.

Got my throne today (put it on Flex just because the Emperor wasn't going to be on its coat tails) and its not broken!

But its not numbered. Is that normal? I thought Sideshow numbered all of their Poly items? The brown shipper box says 717 and usually that is the number the piece ends up, but the art box is unnumbered (although I see a white box that looks like it could be used for numbering that is blank) and there is nothing on the bottom of the throne itself either

I haven't been following the throne closely other than them coming damaged so I'm sure this has already been answered, so please forgive me.

Seriously! I'm there. I have to rotate out older stuff when new stuff arrives. I honestly don't know where Yoda's hut is going. Jabba's throne is a permanent display item and Yoda's hut will likely take up a similar amount of space (it was big at SDCC but I swear these things grow in size between seeing them at SDCC and when they arrive on your doorstep ).

I kinda disagree, Asajj went back up for a while as well. And i think that was 2000 LE. Try finding the EX now. And The Asajj is no Emperor, i think once it's out the EX at least will sell out really fast.

I have plenty of room. 5 bedroom house with a basement, and I live alone. My problem is that I won't allow myself to display any collectibles anywhere other than in my home office, a guest room, and a few things in Detolfs in my bedroom. Anything else I display is in my office at work. What's not displayed is in storage in my basement and gets rotated.

I simply cannot do the collectibles all over the house thing. Gives me the willies.

I'm sorry, why do you think it's the 6th most popular film in the series? By ticket sales, AOTC is clearly last. (adjusted for inflation that is, strangely if not adjusted, it's Empire. )

Hey, TPM had the benefit of being the first SW film in 16 years......Not trying to pick a fight, but TPM is just bad, bad cinema. I may be in the minority, but if I want strong sales for the 12" line, creating figures from this movie doesnt seem to be the way to go, other than the pieces we are already have. Loved getting Qui Gon and Maul......that's it, though

Hey, TPM had the benefit of being the first SW film in 16 years......Not trying to pick a fight, but TPM is just bad, bad cinema. I may be in the minority, but if I want strong sales for the 12" line, creating figures from this movie doesnt seem to be the way to go, other than the pieces we are already have. Loved getting Qui Gon and Maul......that's it, though

I agree with this and yes im running out of room. Imagine 5 years from now, when there are 50 more Sw figs and 5 new Joes

Just don't have the money at the moment. They never processed my rewards points for the Cobra Sniper, so I'm going to call them tomorrow to get that cleared up and see if re-ordering using the grand total is a good idea. A $50 Emperor might be a plan.
