I'm currently a completest but that will change once they really get into Episode I. I already have what I want from that film and will pass on everything they put out.

I only want certain figures from ATOC and ROTs.

I'm pretty hopeless though when it comes to the OT.

I own all of SSC's 1:6 SW releases thus far , including all of the exclusives.

I was until Aayla. Buck body, inaccurate clothing and face didn't look enough like the actress. So I passed.

Once I passed on her, it was easy to pass on Ki Adi because I no longer felt obligated to have them all, didn't have too much of a specific reason to pass on him, looks like a decent figure.

If I ever find them on the cheap, I may again be a completist. LOL.

Was, am, and always will be. And with the troop-builders, I will be getting as many as Sideshow will allow. I have nine Stormtroopers and seven 212th Attack Battalion clones ordered. I love these figures, they are what I have dreamed of since I was a kid.

I have had to lower my standards of how close to perfection I expected them to be. But not by much. I think a great job has been done on EVERY figure. Some were better than others, but every one has been great to me.

And this goes for Medicom as well. I am not doing the troop-building on them, as I find Sideshow's figures to be more in line with what I want (not better or worse, just more in line with what I want in a figure). But they are also great figures and I will buy at least one of each of them.

Dug this ancient thread up. I wonder how many surviving completists are there after such a long while and especially in the present economic environment.

:wave Still here... of course I'm still waiting on some of the regular versions to show up at my retailer as I've pretty much given up on ordering the Exclusives directly.:monkey2

Never intended to be a completist (to much dislike for PT stuff) but still I've only passed on 5 figures thus far. Just no interest in Assaj, Padme, 2 of the Endor Troopers and Antilles.

So far, I haven't passed on anything. I love Star Wars, and so far budget hasn't affected me and I haven't been so dissatisfied with an item that I wouldn't get it. However, Antilles and Rebel Trooper have already moved into passable status with the economic climate changing as it is, they both look very well done, but Antilles is nobody in the grand scheme and I'm not too attached to the ANH rebel look so if need be, I'll drop the trooper as well.

I am now a SS 1/6 completist. In the beginning of the SS 1/6 line I wasn't, but at that time, I was a Hasbro 3/4 completist. With the release of the new Hasbro CW 3/4 line this past August, I purchased the Millennium Falcon and then stopped collecting Hasbro 3/4 cold turkey. I just found that they were cranking out too much crap for me to keep up (physically and financially). Once, I stopped collecting Hasbro stuff, I decided to go back and fill in the holes of my SS collection (Endor troops, Holochess Set, Ceremony Luke & Padme). So, I am now a SS 1/6 completist. I just found that my SS collection doesn't take up nearly as much space, is much easier for me to keep up with (no hassle of running around trying to pick up all the waves from store to store), fits my budget better, and I take more pride in my SS figures due to having much higher quality items than Hasbro. Also, I get much more enjoyment from my SS figures which are displayed vs. my Hasbro stuff which was packed away in storage bins due to space. As long as my budget allows me to continue, I will always be a Sideshow completeist because I think their work is top notch.

I have to agree with you UMRebel, I think you stated well why you are a completist. I am too thus far. The SS stuff makes for a very nice collection overall, and the quality is really quite good for the price. I used to do the Hasbro thing too, but burned out halfway through AOTC!

Wasnt a completist, but realise that theres certain "Exclusives" that I want and theres certain ones I dont. The ones I dont I leave.

If I can pick the regulars up on the secondary market for the 'Correct' price then thats were the completist in me kicks in.

I am going to keep the Rebel, just because I can really recognize that particular trooper and I like the design. But Antilles just doesn't do it for me and honestly don't know what he looks like except with a black glove crushing his windpipe :lol

I realized one thing: less completists would be better for this line.

Please elaborate.

I think more completists means more money for SSC which means more product cranked out. This is speaking quantity wise.

That said, I can see where less completists equals the need for SSC to focus on making quality more important.

So I guess it depends on what you consider better: 6 excellent figures a year or 12 pretty good figures a year.

Not many i'd bet. (too many ^^^^ty production characters for one to fork over the $ for every figure)

If I know Alice he meant that if less people buy anything SS gives out (no matter of quality or price) then Sideshow may up the QC and lower the price point a bit.

Did I get that right?

for all those completists...

it would be GREAT to see a group shot of all the figures... theres been so many since i dropped the line i can hardly remember what we got
