Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Well said. Those are high end collectibles and should be limited. Especially for an exclusive. At the same time I understand that Sideshow wants to make the most money. We are the ones (collectors) that feeds them (Sideshow) and I hope they remember that and don't get too greedy

Yeah I think they're taking the ES of Batman way too far. I don't want to flip him, but if there are so many of these on the market, there's no reason that I won't be able to grab one of these for cheaper on the secondary market. I get SS wanting to make money though but this is isn't even all that special an Ex vs Reg so I may wait. Maybe I'll get used to the idea of so many pieces, just was hoping they would keep the ES in check. Stepping off my soap box... :rotfl

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

They are gonna produce themselves right out of the collectibles market. Pre-order Catwoman PF at your local CVS pharmacy!

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

I think 2000 ES for the EX is high. That being said...there will be many here praying their WL converts until he's released. There will also be many who will be looking for this piece in the aftermarket after it's released. It took only 3 days to sellout 2000 EX pieces. Keep that in mind. Batman is a very popular character. Demand for this iconic character will always be high. Especially when a statue looks as good as this PF does.

True, but IMO SS made a big mistake in one area: this Ex isn't all that special vs The Reg. If the Reg didn't have a COH of course I would hold onto my Ex. But when I look at what Indie and Darth Vader (both huge ES) go for these days, you can find them for around their original retail price as there are just so many of them flooding the market. I hope SS makes Superman's Ex PF special because I'm not happy that my Batman Ex isn't all that different from the Reg and that they've given him such a high ES. Bring back the days of Captain America where they did like 875 Ex and 1000 or 2000 Reg.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

:lol:lol:lol

You should go to the Hulk thread where many are crying that he might be an open edition. Over here some are complaining that Batman EX of 2000 is just to high.

Myself I am happy to be POing later today what I think is the Ultimate Hulk statue and that I will be getting an EX of what is, IMO, the best Batman statue ever made.

It's pretty sad how SS is over-saturating the market with way too many ES pieces on DC. They did some incredible limited ES pieces with Marvel, Universal Monsters, many of those are like treasures to me and very hard to come by these days. It seems SS new way of business is "flood the market while you can and ca$h in." They did a beautiful Batman PF design, but at this ES everyone and their neighbor can get one and the Ex vs Reg makes no difference. Go on ebay and there are always tons of Indiana Jones and Darth Vader PFs going for better prices than what SS gave this PF. I have a feeling my long-awaited Batman PF will have the same fate on ebay in years to come... :thud:

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Well, 2000 Ex is good news and bad news. 1000 Ex would have sat better with me. 2000 pieces doesn't seem "Exclusive at all" just IMO -- that's the bad news. BUT the good news is that he IS Batman and there are enough of us fans to go around. I think they'll probably make another 4000 Reg. The only thing in all this that I don't like at all is that when my buddy comes over and I'm like "check out my Batman PF," he'll be like "Yeah my neighbor has one, I have one, the kid down the street has one" which IMO the news today makes him less special a piece to own to me. Just venting. Still like this piece of course. I just wish SS would remember that these aren't toys. They're collectibles snd should be kept strictly limited. If they make 6000 of these I may cancel and buy one for cheaper down the road. Any statue that they've made at this quanity: Indie, Darth Vader has never really gone up that much in value nad can usually be found for a good price. Argh, sorry peeps... just venting at the news :)

Just be happy with YOUR Batman and be happy for your friends who may get one also. Chances are though if they don't have one know you will still be the only guy in town with a Batman EX.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Here come the glory of the game statueites. They'll buy em no matter what, even if you have to paint them yourself! Sideshow should start making kits that come in a brown paper bag. "I love to sit my brown paper bag on my shelf and shower it with my eyeballs. Who cares if it cost a thousand bucks. I love it so it doesn't matter that it was made on a Krispy Kreme conveyor belt!"

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

A bit let down by the edition size but I don't buy statues/bust/figures and what not as investments so I'm good.

Exactly. I'm frustrated by the ES being so high but I still like this piece and I got my Ex. Lots of time to decide whether or not I want to keep it. But please SS make Superman an EX worth having. I guess I know what I'm in for with the ES of that one. :slap :rotfl

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Got on the wait list pretty soon after this sold out. Gives me more time to decide if the exclusive is worth the extra $$ compared to what I can get the regular for.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

2000 is a dirty move by Sideshow.

:exactly: :goodpost: Glad it's not just me who feels ths way. Anyway, I've said my piece. EX 2000 ES it is. I can think about cancelling depending on the full ES when I find out. I'm just bummed cuz it was such a beautiful design. But I know there are tons of Batman fans out there. I just was hoping they'd keep him a little more "collectible" and not so mass produced. :dunno
