I cancelled my Bats about 8 months ago to consolidate my lines, I decided to switch to simpler statues (e.g MJ etc) and generally am moving away from mixed media, just seems there's less chance for issues (the ol' KISS principle) if you just have polystone. The fully polystone lines, e.g. Mythos, Spidey etc have all been pretty good I thought. If I do go mixed media, I try and limit to animated or comic characters which are easier for the factory to pull off. Statues that are meant to be photo-real are always harder.

For the record, the variation here between proto and factory is sorta disappointing, might look different in person in 3D though, I think my biggest grumble would be the amount of facial hair painted on, it's a little heavy. Then again, I don't envy SS in trying to get this sort of stuff right, it's not easy, and these big ticket items get nitpicked like crazy, but the 400 is a lot of coin as ppl say, so a toughie. On the whole I'm glad I got out.

Can anyone else think of another PF with a fabric costume that has also received such negative comments in regards to the fit rather than the classic 'pyjama' comments...

None of the vids or pics from SDCC had this seam or armpit issue and I don't think the majority of collectors would have PO'd this if that was the case

ALSO!!!!

If you are taking photo's some basic rules -

1) NO FLASH
2) Good natural lighting - think well lit room or patio but not direct sunlight, make it a shaded area that's bright.
3) In Focus with no shadows
4) NO FLASH

I plan on taking the absolute worst photos of this thing when it gets here just to watch the board explode in nerd rage. The whining will be epic

I think that moving the suit up before place the cape ,the logo will fit better

Not that I can recall. Even the most heavily "pajamaed", like Wolverine or Sabertooth, had excellent fit.

I thought the Wolverine and Sabretooth looked horrible and passed on them because of the pajama look.

I think its a known fact that Sideshow reps regularly view these threads so I wonder what their take is on all the negative comments I wonder if their returns dept are about to experience a mad rush pretty soon

Oh please... look at the mythos statues, deadpool pf or mary jane scott campbell comiquette. If that is the best excuse to use fabric, that is lame.

Thanks for the input Blix, wise words buddy I guess your right about it selling for retail in a worse case scenario. I think if it weren't for the $75 credit applied to this order, the decision might have been an easier one

Seriously if you are not happy with it i would probably take it off you for retail and being in the UK i would pay your tax bill. That way you don't loose your $75 and there is a chance you'll be happy with it.

As much as i would love it i hope you'll be happy with it

Yea, the question was more based on the fit of mixed media costumes as opposed to looking like pyjamas. I cant remember another PF that had problems with seams or arm pit issues?

your memory must not be all that great, people were complaining about the seams of Wolverine's pajamas from the production pics, let alone when it was in hand.

You can actually make a claim to customs with a confirmed email from Sideshow explaining the item was returned so you wouldn't lose out on import fees

With all due respect sir, people are losing their minds over a minor detail, which they have yet to see in person. It is certainly their prerogative to place whatever value they choose on which ever detail they choose, and to expect meticulous faithfulness to the prototype if that is what they need to convince them of a purchase. But it's between them and Sideshow.

People getting called suckers, kool-aid drinkers and shills because they don't have the same level of obsessive compulsion, or hysteria, or impatience, is obnoxious.

you mean the Wolvie LSF? I didn't hear of any problems with seams? maybe the one person abt a week ago mentioned something about it but not that many...
