Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Great pics guys, one thing I am very concerned about the disproportion weight and lean. Be very careful with displaying this statue. This to me is more important to address than the armpit.
I suggest some earthquake putty on the base to secure this statue.

I agree. I'm afraid to use it because of what it might do to the paint long term, but I do feel like the statue's balance isn't great.

Am I the only loser who hasn't received any kind of shipping notification yet?

Re: Sideshow Batman PF?

Although it maybe a risk attaching the grey thread to the Bats outfit material, I'm armed and ready to sort those pits out!! :lol

I'm sure you could take out some of the slack in the armpits without much risk. Maybe if you went overboard and tightened the crap out of it, it might be an issue down the road.

Oh yea...I'm gonna be doing this very very carefully...definately not going to be using the pull up the material and glue the excess round the back technique that was suggested earlier :panic:

I plan on putting some extra rubber feet under the right side to keep it from wanting to tip that way. I am worried about the weight distribution.

What paint? Its going at the bottom of the base!
I have used it for years to secure them to the glass/cabinets and it never takes any paint/decals off the base.

Someone suggested this, I put a quarter underneath the base on the right side and the thing is sturdy as a rock.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

It's hard to determine scale exactly but CBG is right the difference in size between Batman and GL does seem to be a full scale different. GL looks tiny. I am glad I never picked up GL for a Justice League display.

OK, I'll try one more time. Bats is LARGER than 1/4 scale. He's a beast just like the Spidey Com. Take the Spidey Com and put him next to the BiB Spidey. The original Spidey Com dwarfs the BiB Com even though the BiB Com is a true 1/4 scale piece. As much as I'd like to, I can't display them together. That does not mean that the BiB Spidey is a 1/5 piece. It is a true 1/4 piece that won't look like it because the Spidey Com is so large. Bats and GL fall under the same category. They just won't display well together because of this. That doesn't make GL a Com. I own it, so I know exactly how he looks next to 1/5 Coms and true 1/4 PFs.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Seeing that one size chart with Supes...

He remains my most anticipated piece to get in hand this year :) Now to just pray for flawless QC!

That said, looking forward to getting my Bats in 2 weeks! Hoping his PJs went through a good shrink cycle via Alfred so his Pits are as snug as possible.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

I am one of the first guy who saw the proto of GL and I always think it is a great piece so I wouldn't mind the difference of height besides if you think to assemble
of JLA then some of the members's pose could be more action than museum to create a dynamic composition. For example I want Flash to be in action rather than museum...Just my thoughts:)

I agree. Flash has the potential to have the same scale issue in the JL line up. If he's fully sculpted and an action pose in similar scale to Hal, he just won't look good lined up next to Bats. However, if he looks as good as GL, I'll have a hard time passing on him.

I don't care really what anyone says this pic says it all. The difference in scale between GL and Batman is terribly obvious. I almost didnt' write this cause I am tired of all the constant complainers on here and I am not trying to start anything. I agree art is subjective so if you have no problem with the way these look thats fine. But to me the scale difference is terribly obvious. GL looks the way perhaps a Robin should be in comparison to Batman not Hal Jordan leader of the greatest space corps ever. Never seen that size difference in the comics.

No one is disagreeing that there is a scale difference m8. Batman is a little large, and GL is a little smaller. It doesn't have to be a big difference for it to look weird and off. However, in the end they look good, and I would separate them in a collection.

Hey bud. Good to catch you on here. I know that people aren't denying the scale difference they can't it's to obvious. I just think it is terrible and will only look worse one Superman comes if he is in fact equal to Batman. If GL was in the middle he would look tiny. Again to each there own.

I agree that GL should be a bit bigger, but the statue is quit nice in hand m8.

Oh and thanks for your kind words in my art thread m8... it is truly appreciated.... lol
