Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Ok, I went out and bought a Dremel 3000 this morning...I've always wanted one. This thing is so awesome, I can't believe I never bought one before.

I used it to shave down the metal peg and slightly enlarge the hole for the peg, and voila...my new body fits perfect.

I read a while back that some people's hands are not fitting on the body, so I checked my batarang hand...wouldn't you know it, it doesn't fit. No problem...I just took my hand dandy Dremel and shaved down the peg on the right arm, and the batarang hand now fits

Worth the $60 investment already!

Next up...pit fix! I'm going to try to take a video while I do it. Assuming everything goes well, I'll post the video later on!

You should ask Sideshow to give you a $60 refund to pay for your drill. It's the least they could do considering you had to buy the thing just to fix their mistakes.

Re: Sideshow Batman PF?

Congrats on the fix! I purchased the 3000 as well when I modded the Ikea Granas table for my Tumbler. Very awesome tool indeed.

Josh-a-Thon, thanks again for the link!

Congrats Bmutha... I am glad it has worked out for you my man. I wish you never had to do that though. Seems like it might be a great tool to have though

Really happy to hear you got everything to fit finally. Hopefully SS can give you some kind of reimbursement for all the trouble they put you through.

Sometimes you just have to go balls to the wall, my friend!

Pits are fixed now, too. I filmed it this time around, so I will try to put a little video together showing how I did it. Basically the same as Raphael's video, but I want to show people you don't need super skills to pull this off (I'm no sculptor or painter, that's for sure).

Yup. I am going to contact them next week to see what they can do. The guy I spoke with on Friday did mention they will likely still give me a credit, even if I was able to get the replacement to fit properly.

Great! Looking forward to the video Kris. Will certainly help give me confidence to do mine :)

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Why don't you just pick up a reg and use that replacement body? Assuming you get one that fits you can just swap it out with the replacement body and send it back for a full refund. Lot of hoops to jump through but at least you've got another shot or even two at getting a perfect body that fits into your base

mmmm, there may be a problem with this method. When requesting for a refund (of the exclusive I supposed), wouldn't Sideshow ask for a picture of the completely destroyed statue, INCLUDING the base?

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Great to hear DIY and easy even for all collectors...

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Will hopefully have a video up later today. I am trying to cut it down...it was 35 minutes long. I am also going to pull apart the first one I fixed, just to see how strong the glue really is. I will try to film that and tack it on to the end of the video.

The problem he was having was getting a clean batman body to fit into the base. I was suggesting the reg for another chance at getting the peg holes to fit. If the reg would have fit then he could have just switched them out. Returned the original ex body with the reg base and etc.
Huge hassle fer sure but I can attest to it working

And I was absolutely considering it ;) But, no need, my completed Batman is on display now!

:hi5: and what a relief that must be not to mention you have acquired a new skill and tool that I'm sure will come into play on future dilemmas. Of course I hope not but just in case you seem to have it covered

Could have used it on the punisher base...that was an extremely tight fit.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Your Batman looks great at that angle. I'll be stealing that idea so I can fit Bats and the Joker in the same Besta. :)

Re: Sideshow Batman PF?

Picked up ex #1759 today. What a beast fig he's taller than hulk!

Bring on the boy scout.
