What the ____ does it matter so long as it's perfect for the character? HT's been doing it now for years at a 60% mark-up and nobody whines about it.

Plagiarism sucks sometimes. I don't mind it at times because Very Hot Toys sells Hot Toy knock-offs BUT FOR CHEAP!

I don't get it, like an M4 isn't supposed to look like an M4? Can you give me an example of rippping other companies off?

They stole cut of the Eagle TAC V10 vest from Toy Soldier; obviously altered a bit so that Beach head can strap on his red beret and with the velvet part removed for netting. Here it is on Enterbay's Jack Bauer figure;

It's DAMNED similar down to the elastic straps that hold the magazines at the M4 pouches. And the holster, or should I say holsters because they use the same cut for Flint; stolen from ACE.

why does ssc make their smoke grenades look like every other company's smoke grenades? /sarcasm ..

And since we're on the topic of grenades; let's not forget to mention Snake Eyes smoke grenade pouch; stolen from Hot Toys; It's damned similar except where they place the straps that go around the thigh but I guess that's alright since Sideshow slangs Hot Toy products to the US like dogs.

Did the thought ever occur to you that the same company in China that produces vests, guns, etc, for HT, VHT, TC, etc., could quite possible have also taken an order from Sideshow to produce the accessories? Might explain the similarities. Additionally, as others have already stated, they look similar because both were modeled to look like the real steel version. Ever think of that?! I think you're nitpicking for the sake of _____ing. So long as the quality is there, who gives a ____?! Seriously?! Go find another thread to whine in. Your relevance here has just petered out.

No, I just think your argument is bull____. Sideshow's not "stealing" from any other companies as you claim, just because they made a vest similar to the one made by Toy Soldier. Both made vests that look similar to the Blackhawk Omega tactical vest (a design that was stolen by Eagle Industries to capitalize on the market looking for that style of vest). Nobody is stealing from anybody else here. Both companies make products to represent their perspective real steel counterparts.

Both made vests that look similar to the Black Hawk Omega Tactical vest (a design that was stolen by Eagle Industries to capitalize on the market looking for that style of vest). Nobody is stealing from anybody else here. Both companies make products to represent their perspective real steel counterparts.

I kitbash a lot; so I'm ALWAYS looking for parted items and I don't know if you can relate to that but if you hunt as much as I do, you can develop an eye to catch the difference between companies; with that said I can't help but see the similarities and say something about it. You can't deny the uncanny similarity of the cuts; and I think Toy Soldier is the ONLY company to produce this vest to 1/6.

First of all, IT'S NOT THE SAME VEST!!!! You've even stated that. And you're wrong. TS wasn't. I've had a Hasbro version of this vest for over 15 years (though the quality isn't the same), and a 21st Century version (with sculpted pouches) for over 10 years, so wouldn't that mean that TS ripped off them?! I kitbash just as much as you do, likely moreso, but wouldn't dare come in here like a snob accusing one company of stealing from another. Especially when both vests look different. The similarities, again, are because both are attempting to capture the real steel look of the Blackhawk Omega they're trying to portray.

It's more so of who reproduced the gear successfully and who's copying their work.

So Toy Soldier did that ____ first and did it well; Sideshow "BORROWED" from them. I don't want to say steal since some of you guys might get butt hurt.

Sorry to come out of left field on this. But I, for one, PREFER the vests to be identicle even between companies (as long as they are all the best versions).

Now, that is not to say that I want every military figure released to have the same vests, but when a few different figures across a few different companies actually have the item to keep it accurate, I would like to see them all the same.

That would make the parts more interchangeable for kitbashing...AND easier to find.

I am paying hell to find the shoulder pads that shadow_wolf used for Snake Eyes.

Sorry to come out of left field on this. But I, for one, PREFER the vests to be identicle even between companies (as long as they are all the best versions).

Now, that is not to say that I want every military figure released to have the same vests, but when a few different figures across a few different companies actually have the item to keep it accurate, I would like to see them all the same.

That would make the parts more interchangeable for kitbashing...AND easier to find.
